Those angelfish are beautiful. I watched your last Keys vid too, you're within casting distance of a family house of ours (I don't know where you are exactly but you're within a 2-10 minute drive I'd bet) I don't have any secret fishing knowledge to pass on for your next visit, I don't get down there enough.
That place has almost spoiled my usual freshwater fishing for me. You don't know what you'll catch or see next down there.
Currently where I am right now the lakes are still frozen, winter is just not giving up.

Do you know the guy that fishes off the cliffs and repels down the cliffs on ropes in Australia -gidos fishing adventures- if he needs to hoist the fish up he's got this thing that slides down his fishing line and then it hooks on to the fish and then he pulls the fish up with it what it is it's a series of hooks that are very large and it makes a pear shape and it goes over the fish's nose and opens up and grabs him like a clamshell on a crane or Derek.

The ones with the barb each side by the tail are very similar to fish I've caught in Gambia, there they are known as doctor/surgeon fish because of the barb being likened to a scalpel. I've done the keys a couple of times and this video describes it perfectly good cheap fun filled fishing, thanks for posting it.

9: 30 Watching you touching that surgeon fish's blades was nerve-wracking. The cutting edges are tucked in towards the body and they can extend them outwards like a switch blade and then they thrash with their tails. They can cut you to the bone, hence the common name. So glad it remained calm for you.

Snappers migrate through the passes in May and June from the Gulf to the Atlantic to spawn. If you try again at night with some live pinfish or frozen sateen cut in half, you should catch some 5 - 8 ponders. I use size 2 hooks, but most use 1. 0 to 2. 0Don't set the hook right away; good luck.

The fish with spikes on the tail are doctorfish, surgeonfish or tang. depending on who you ask. The thing is that the tail spikes can -cut you up- like a scalpel.
Juvenile goliath grouper, no cod this far south.
We call that turtle grass. There is coral and rock underneath it.
