Where my fishing career began, Eaglenest Lodge! It felt SO good to be back. It's been over 10 years since I last visited Eaglenest Lodge on the Winnipeg River where my guiding career began. So thankful I was able to show Sam this place that is so special to me. What a great few days we had fishing for Walleye and Pike!

Sam loves you Jay, so much. Not to many woman are willing to put up with the passions of a fisherman. You can see it in her expressions. You, we, can also see it in her love for you. Myself and my lady, who is a Sam dealing with me. we super enjoy watching you and Sam fishing together. One of only a couple fishing shows we watch together.
On a side note, Michelle killed uncut angling. Lol jk jk. We wish the best of fishing and happiness to you and Sam. Tight lines.

Another awesome video Jay! I went to Eaglenest Landing for my first time this past June and it won't be my last. Nice accomodations and well run place with nice boats available for rent. You sure brought back memories as I forgot to put the plug back in not once but twice in boats I was pulling in the water from beaches. I did not sunk the boat but had to react quickly and heard about it for a long time lol. Keep up the good work!

I used to think there was nothing better than a day out in nature catching fish. Then I met my wife who loves to be out there with me and sometimes catching better than me. You're very blessed to have a wife that enjoys life with you doing what you love to do. I call that harmony seeing everything we love comes together for a greater experience.

I've fished on the ontario side of this lake in the English River, and it was some of the best walleye fishing I've ever experienced. Had the chance to go in the spring and fall for 2 years in a row and it was unforgettable. Cool to know jay started it all right there!

Jay, I am considering an underwater camera. I fish almost exclusively around Eaglenest. Have you had an opportunity to try an underwater camera on the Wpg River? I have been reluctant to spend the money because of concerns about visibility. Any help would be appreciated.

What an amazing place and video. So good to see that Sam took a break to let you catch the big fish on this trip, especially since you had to let your guests catch the large ones all those years ago. Blessings to the two of you. Thanks for sharing your stories.

Thanks for posting this video. I have been to Eagles Nest 2 times as a guest and worked there as a guide in 2000. I love that place and so many great memories! Talk about nostalgia! Im planning to take my son and dad there soon.

Great video. What set up were you using for the pike fishing? Rod/reel/test/leader etc. I apologize in advance if you did explain this already, I had to keep turning the volume on and off as my baby slept. ;)

I can relate to the pike eye. I have had it happen ice fishing on Emma Lake about 40 minutes north of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Looking down my hole I seen a pike just sitting there looking at me.
