The Green Sunfish you have in your pond, I would leave at least a small number in there. My grandparents on my moms side live in Illinois and when we head back to visit we stay at their house and there are some neighborhood ponds just down the block and across the street and they have huge bass and massive sunfish. I once caught one approaching 12 inches and these are gills and Green sunfish. One of the ponds across the street is clear and you can stand on the gazebo and see trophy sunfish which could be up to 2 pounds. Keep at least a small number and in a few years there could be some giants waiting for you. Tight lines

Clearly as others have stated, I think your entire pond is overpopulated due to the lack of predators. Hence the reason all the fish are stunted (small. My strategy would be to reduce the native population not eliminate. A combination of population reduction and predator introduction will balance out the pond. I would introduce Bass that are at different stages of their life (big & small. Find another farm pond that has an overpopulated bass population. You'll be doing both bodies of water a favor.

I would keep the fish in there, the carp was a bad idea, they are good to clean up the water but they destroy fry and small animals like frogs and crawfish. The bass will take care of the sunnies pretty good. Crappies are actually great for a bass environment, I would keep them to do this ice fishing and they are a good summer jig on a boat. Catfish is okay but they are very aggressive fish, even on large fish like bass but they are great for cleaning up those sunnies

don't get rid of the sunnies. i don't think they will destroy anything. if you doing as a big bass they can eat them. yeah you can relocate the crappies if you don't want it in the pond. me i'll keep because crappies are good. boil them in a pot with lemon grass, salt, green onions, other herbs it makes a great clean broth. sunnies you deep fry them and it is so yummy. as a kid we ate sunnies like crazy.

I think you should probably keep them uses as because I and trust me I know a lot about fishhow fast does eating sunfish when you put it in the same waters are sunfish because the sunfish doesn't stand a chance cuz of bass has a big mouth and sunfish has little mouth that don't stand a chance that eats fish that are sadly not the size but they can easily

Heres my opinion about the removal the green sunfish they are a competitor but the crappies dont remove we have a 4 acre pond and it has crappie bluegill and bass and the bas are 5 plus lbs the green sunfish we get rid of the green sunfish for a specific reason because of there aggressive crappie are more of a lazy fish compared to them thats my opinion

If you want to have a good large bass pond then you should stock a few hundred American shiners. They reproduce quickly and grow to full size before the panfish can wipe them all out. We have thousands in our pond and we are growing fat healthy bass. Also when the bass get about 3-4 pounds they will start to control the population of green sunfish.

Not sure how big that pond is, but crappie are as big of a problem in a small body of water as green sunfish. They eat a ton, repopulate quickly, and youll end up with a big stunted population, just like with the green sunfish. When researching for my pond I believe it was recommended to not have crappie in a pond smaller than 10 acres.

Love your videos. So you know the grass carp that are stocked in ponds are usually all male and will not reproduce. You can double check with your hatchery but I think that is a federally set thing. They will grow huge if you will give them 4 to 5 years. The ones we have are in the 20 to 25 lb range.

Dude. learn to use a little butter. in a pan. season as you need to. will change everything you cook f you just use the proper technique. stop frying everything in hot sauce. Wastes it. And ruins the natural flavors of the meats. you need to enhance the flavors. not overpower everything
