Frog Fishing for Bass in Winter?

Fishing frogs for largemouth bass in the winter time isn't a common approach in bass fishing. In this video, I was bass fishing on a really warm day in December. The water was reaching the low 70's and bass were starting to move up shallow to feed on shad that were in the backs of some pockets on the lake. I decided to throw a topwater frog around some grass to see if there where any largemouth bass that would come up and hit a topwater back in the grass. Amazingly, I had a few bass explode on my frog! They were very aggressive hits and I had to set the hook quick to try and bring the fish out of the weeds. I was fishing a heavy baitcasting rod and reel set up with braided line. This was my first bass ever on a topwater frog in the month on December

JUSTIN! Happy New Year! That was Sick Dude! Incredible that a lot of the YouTube fishers are trying new or I should say different things (well the same baits, just different months) to catch some some Nice fish. I glance down to see it is 29 degrees here (Northeast Ohio) now and think, Tuesday it MAY go up to 58. (Sorry I meant in MAY it will go up to 58) jk. Maybe I'll get out. But I'll have to try for steelhead! Tight Lines my friend!

Watching your videos makes me believe in my self. I always tell my parents I want to bass fish for a living it may not happen but I hope it will. My parents think I waste my time watching YouTube but videos like yours and other fishing youtubers teach me a lot and make me think about the things I could do in the fishing community.

Was that a scum frog? I've seen them at Walmart here in Kentucky but I always thought they looked odd and never really had much faith in them. But if that was a scum frog then I'm glad I saw you stick a stud on one! I may have to go try one out, tight lines LFG!

What brand of frog is that? Is it reliable? I've had many different name brand frogs and most have torn to pieces after 4-5 fish. You have any recommendations LFG?
