Pond fishing for bass in the winter can be really tough, but fishing crawfish reaction crankbaits can save the day. In this winter fishing vlog, I'm starting out in the bass tackle cave to giving some tips on some of my top pond fishing lures for bass in the winter for cold and dirty water. Then, I grabbed my waders and headed out to find a bass pond around town. I found a pond where the water wasn't too dirty after the recent rains. After fishing around the bank for about 1o minutes I found a freshly eaten crawfish around the shoreline. This gave me the confidence to really fish the lipless crankbait hard. I was fishing a 1/4 oz Rapala lipless crankbait and give some fishing tips and techniques for fishing these lures this time of year. One of the main things I like to look for when pond bass fishing in the winter on a sunny day is a shallow pocket. These shallow pockets and flats can hold bass that move up and feed in the water that is a few degrees warmer. +++++++++++++++++ FOLLOW ME ON THESE ++++++++++++++++++

That's no joke about the water clarity. I fish a lot of small ponds in the Little Elm/Frisco area and it's really tough to find clear water. I have had some pretty good luck with black/red or black/blue craws and jigs fishing them painfully slow in cold, murky water. Makes it a little tougher if you're unfamiliar with an area. Seems to help to use very lifelike baits, even in the murky water, as they still take their time to think about it before they strike. I usually reach for a brush hog or a speed craw of some type, but the Big Bite Baits Craw Worm and the Zoom Critter Craw are great when you need a more lifelike appearance in lieu of more action. Hope that helps any bank bound fisherman in the north TX area.

I like this kind of video, nice change of pace. You should do more of these, even when the wind isn't crap, and do them randomly throughout the year.
P. s. Next time take a jig too. those laydowns looked pretty good.

was fishing a golf course pond yesterday, throwing a tiny firetiger rattletrap. got one at the bank and I was using light line and he wrapped me round a tree and snapped. bites good down here in Louisiana

I've specifically tried fishing this lure in spots that i know have craws and still have never had a fish even hit that lure. still sticking to the square bills, they seem to produce the most for me

Great video. This looks similar to the reservoir I primarily fish in Georgia. I've gotta get me some waders! You're the reason I took up fishing last year. Keep up the awesome videos!

Rackley I gotta move south! This northern ice is getting old! Thanks for the reminder that spring is a ways away in Michigan, lol kidding! Fish on brother!

you mentioned using white/chartuse for muddy water but at the end you said to work dark colored baits slow in cold muddy water?

If you call that a pond than I fish puddles. I'm pretty sure I've fished lakes smaller than that pond here in West Virginia.
