That's how my luck on Watts Bar lake usually is. I get frustrated bass fishing and end up catching bream. I don't really care what I catch, as long as I get that tug on the line I'm good. I'm usually fishing with my grandfather too, so that's always makes it fun, especially knowing those days are about to end. He just isn't able to handle a day on the water like he used to, he's 85 now too. Enjoy every day you can with your family and friends, cause there will come a day where that last trip will happen and you cant go with them, for whatever reason.

Here on Canyon lake the beautiful TX hill country the fall colors are making a bad day fishing well worth the trip. Two weeks ago water temps was around 63 today temp in the 69-70. I have been catching small schoolers on a Yozuri prop bait and a double rig Zoom super fluke. Then when that slows I start drop shooting Targeting Hydrilla looking around secondary points halfway in the back of creeks. Ive been catching 15 to 25 fish a day but bigs are hard to find.

Now to answer your question, my best luck so far this fall has been on a googan squad scout followed by crankbaits. I know he won't read this, but maybe someone else will that will have the same luck I did while using the scout. Tight lines, good luck, and even better fishing people!

Recently. I have been using spinnerbaits low-mid water depth. They have been in grass and dead Lilly pads and things like that. They have NOT been in wood for me.
