In this Catch, clean and cook video I prepare the often overlooked Florida Kingfish aka the King Mackerel. Many people pass up eating the kingfish when coming back from a day of Florida Offshore fishing and its generally because they don't know how to prepare it! The kingfish was prepared steak style on the grill with caramelized shallots, balsamic glaze and bruschetta toppings! Hungry Watch this Next! : Subscribe for more Catch and Cooks!

Kingfish is a prized one where i come from. Here in Trinidad and Tobago they can go quite expensive in the market. Really great feeling when you bring it home yourself from the water. Nice recipe. Will be sure to try it. One tip, put a little oil on the grill before getting it hot so the fish dont stick as much. Nice Vid man!

Please someone tell me. We went off shore charter boat today, we catch a mess load of King Makerals including a 45 pounder and a 30 pounder, along with a bunch of 15 pounders. They told us the Bigger kings are not good to eat. Is that True?
Thank you

vic have you ever filet a king and do they have a large bloodline? im surprised to hear it's not fishy, I stay away from king fish just because of that. im buying it at store so maybe it's just because it's not fresh? thanks and great video

Enjoyed the video! Great job! For your bruschetta try mixing in appx, teaspoon of kosher salt, 1/4 cup of balsamic vinegar and 1/4 cup of olive oil into the recipe and letting it stand in the fridge for about an hour. Gives it a nice kick.

Hello, I would like to know if this fish is very fishy tasting when cooked. It looks very yummy when cooked.
You are a great cook! Thanks!

Ive always been told not to eat them not because they taste bad but because theyre high in mercury because of their diets.
