I must admit to having fished for sharks years ago. I stopped, it's cruel and just so wrong. Sharks are under huge fishing pressure that often ends with their death and cut off fins. They are simple creatures and need to left alone. The act of catching a shark puts huge pressure on the fish the results of which cannot be guaranteed. There's a little book titled Cod I suggest you read it.

I'm glad you also removed the second hook from the shark.
Even if the hook is rusting, I do not think it is good if you do not completely remove the hook. I have already seen sharks with several hooks at the same time in the mouth. Who catches a shark, must also remove the hook completely.
