If this supplier is making a profit at 10 cents an ounce, he's getting his raw lead for FREE. Here's how I do it. .Many of my local owner/operator tire shops GIVE me all the old lead balance weights I want when I get to the top of the list of 'wanters'. One shop in particular only passes them on to me, as I''ll ONLY use him for my tractor tire/labor needs. Another great source is old lead/acid batteries. I get them for nothing, or next to that, drain them for a day or so, turn them upright to 'cook' in the sun for a few days, then open 'em up. One word of caution tho. 'Battery lead' needs to be WELL 'smelted' OUTSIDE. PERIOD.

Just a heads up, I went through Patrick to get some lead and it was somewhat of a logistics nightmare that ended up costing me 40 in shipping as opposed to his flat rate shipping fee. Wasn't all his fault as my local post office is pretty terrible, but Patrick offered me a refund and I never got it. I didn't care enough to keep texting him in regards to getting my money back because he didn't seem all that interested in customer service when I was dealing with him so I decided to just cut my losses. Not that it has anything to do with you Victor, just wanted to give you a heads up IF you are going to use him as a reference.

Great video I am not sure if your video on you actually making your own rigs is out but you should make it soon also lead can be melted many times over, even more savings there but you must speak on safety we dont want people burning themselves or their homes. I am from California & I understand most of the comments but still people need to we warn about smelling fumes. I reload all my ammo for all my guns, & their must be a high level of respect for powders primers & hot lead. besides that making your own rigs is another great hobby keep your videos coming you have great wisdom & great respect from me & many others

Good resource for molds- I've been reloading my own rifle and pistol cartridges for a decade, and got into casting my own bullets about 5 years ago- buying lead in NY is expensive- but I found some guys who used to remove lead piping from houses who literally gave me about 20 feet of lead pipe. I melted it down and cleaned it up- ended up with about 60lbs of pure soft lead, but have been having a hard time finding a good resource for molds for fishing stuff (downrigger weights, sinkers, etc. for fishing in Lake Ontario. Good looking out, Landshark!

Outstanding video! I have been taking lead to my neighbor for years. I know, sounds weird. But he makes ammo for handguns and our pistols for hunting season. My secret. Tire shops! That's right. I snag the buckets of lead from the wheel weights and now you my friend have just added to what I will do with it! So. FREE LEAD from the TIRE SHOPS! Try it! Don't forget the County fleet vehicle garage. I take about 20lbs a month from there. O yea and the local colleges. they have fleet garages too.

I used a mold I bought from that website a while back to make my own top water frogs for snakeheads. After comparing pictures, come to realize the mold I have is the exact same as JD's custom baits frogs hahaha saved so much money, they sell 4-5 for like 8 or something crazy like that. I get it though, folks just trying to get by but damn the savings of DIY molds is too good. Nice video man!

Good advice Victor. People need to know it is a long range plan. About 40 for mold is a pinch also. I bought one each season and feel I break even after one season and it is gravy after that. I've a couple of fishing buddies that do the lead hunting for half the weight back in sinkers. a fishing buddy that does roofing would be a godsend.

Placed an order with the Lead Bandit on your recommendation. His prices are good but I am not impressed with his slow turn around time to fill a small order. 5 days is too long to fill an order before you send it out.

Nice video. I use to make my own weight unbelievable how much money you can save especially in pyramid weight. The only biggest expenses is buying the mold and pot but the rest will pay it self in the long run.

Tire shops are a good place most of the time get a 5 gallon bucket full for 20 bucks but only about 95% will be lead but average 5gallon of tire weights is well over 100 lbs
