Part 5 of the New England series coming at you! Brook and I went clamming on the Niantic river with our friend Carl and Cathy. We teach you how to catch quahog clams, then shuck clams and finally make the best homemade New England clam chowder ever! Big thank you to Dexter Outdoors for this amazing trip!

That was an EXCELLENT clam chowder, m'friend! Just because I'm extra however, I will still put a quick dash of black pepper and a pat of butter on the top before eating. Mmmm mmmm, good! Very interesting video! Where I live, we don't use oyster crackers though. We eat all of our thick soups and chowders with local soda crackers. Oh man, my mouth has sprung a leak!

I grew up on Cape Cod and have eaten tanker trucks worth of clam chowder -- Looks like you did a great job -- wish I could have been there to taste test

It is funny. I live in Florida and visit my Dad every year in Connecticut for the summer. That spot is where we go clamming!

simple. quahog is big (cherry stone/chowder clam) if eaten raw it's bubble gum. Little necks are for clams on the half shell.
