Mako Sharks are managed by NOAA Fisheries. Everything you see in this video, abides by NOAA. The shark was harvested humanely and consumed nothing went to waste. Here is the first video from our trip the to NE Coast! Kicking it off with a Short-fin Mako Catch Clean Cook. This was seriously top 3 best tasting fish of all time. Big thanks to Joe and Erick Faust for the amazing trip! We were fishing offshore near the New York Coast. These are highly migratory predators and the fastest sharks on earth! X7shadow42: Hey landshark your probably not going to see this but I would love to see a Blue runner vs Blue fish. Could you plenty do a taste test comparison

Around 25 years ago I was on a friend's boat out of Virginia Beach when a 150lb Mako swam right next to the boat. The mate asked what he should do thinking bait it or let it be. the Captain jokingly suggested to gaff it and he did. in one motion he gaffed that fish, swung it on board as we all bailed out of the cockpit as that absolutely green fish tore off both washdown spigots and trashed the boat to the tune of 5, 000 dollars damages.

sorry, but killing the fish this way, that's just cruelty and tortue, a juick powerfull snag to the head or a shot with a bolt gun and then bleeding the fish out, that is how you kill the fish without more pain it needs, dragging a living fish and let it bleed out alive-slowly, that's just horrible, I respect you and like you, but this is an unforgiveable thing, please start killing your fish instead of just letting them die

The people running their mouths about sharks need to fish offshore on the East Coast of the US. There is zero shortage of sharks, including Mako's. They're overabundant and have completely overrun many areas of the gulf stream.

Where exactly did you fish from? Montauk? Who did you rent from and would you recommend them? I live in Nassau County in long island and usually fish out from freeport

I understand killing a bigger mako but don t kill a small/juvenile one it really takes a toll on the population and how they reproduce.
