Salmon, trout, and char jump out of the water and kinda belly flop to loosen up their eggs for spawning thats why that hen squirted her eggs on ya she probably had a mate and was getting ready to spawn but no worry when trout get in that state and have found a mate they stick together thats kinda a tip also for fishing steelhead so you know if you catch one theres usually another one close by but ya those trout colors are way different ive never seen rainbows with those dark spots all over the body and the browns had really weird patterns but then again there is a bunch of sub species of most of the main trout species look up lahontan cutthroat really cool fish.

Dude, nice job. That rainbow Kristi caught was gorgeous. Some of those rainbows are hatchery fish. You can tell with the tails and fins being rubbed down from the concrete raceways they are raised in until they get trucked to the river and released. The guys are right about your two browns being tigers. They breed them a lot here in Utah and stock our lakes with them. They're cool, hard fighting fish and they grow SUPER fast, which is one reason they're stocked so heavily here. You ever make it to Utah, hit up the Boulder Mtn area. Nice big brookies and huge tigers (20 inch plus) with some rainbows and cutthroats as well depending on where you fish.

Enjoyed so much had to watch and comment again. Also researched the river in that area. Four hour drive for me, but think I will visit in spring. Parked in W Va and fishing in Maryland. Did you have your Maryland state fishing license? Odd that you never mentioned Jamie even once on camera. Read she took a sick day, hope it was with wages.

Come fish it in the fall there at Barnum when the browns are spawning. Also the fishing downstream is awesome, from being the paper mill all the way to black oak bottom. Also the lower savage river there is some of the best fishing in the eastern states. The tributaries that come into the reservoir are full of beautiful native brooks.

I believe that the second fish that you caught was actually a brown trout. I think the reason that it looked a little bit different though is because it was a stocked trout. Stocked trout have a little different coloration's, different head shapes, and different body shape.

Looks like some of those bad boys were cutthroat/rainbow hybrids! (lots of red on the gill plate and under the jaw. Also the beautiful brook trout, native or otherwise, are all descended from a landlocked variety of arctic char. Life, uh, finds a way.

Man epic day on the trouts bro! I think those were tiger trout btw. I have had days like that with trout where you catch so many they destroy your rooster tail. Great video and I love 1fish2fish so that was a nice bonus! Tight lines man!

Hey awesome video! Was curious, you don't have to say exact location but, is this just north of Harpers ferry, where the potomac starts to thin up a bit? Looks like an awesome stretch of river. Thanks for the good content!

Are you using a 54 ultra lite rod?
Im considering getting a 6 foot or slightly below 6 with a medium action for trout.
I got an ulta lite but the casting is weird with it. seems to not cast where I want it to.
