Regarding the TSMC prioritizing semiconductor for auto. It will have negligible effect on the likes of Apple and AMD. The chips components for auto industry are manufactured with old process nodes on older 8 inch wafers. It does complete against PC chips sets and some components in tablets, but not high end CPUs and GPUs. My understanding is profit margin for auto components are really low, so when auto industry cancelled their orders, most 8 inch contract manufactures including TSMC switched over to making higher margin components for tablet devices.

I remember the Acorn Archimedes. What a piece of kit that was at the time. ARM architecture with RISC OS. The art department at my school had one. My mum, who taught there, took it home in the summer holidays because no one used computers in their free time anyway and I just sat there playing zarch thinking it was the coolest thing I had ever seen. All the polygons! Now after SoftBank gobbled it up the bastards at nvidia are trying to get their hands on ARM. Acorns do grow to mighty trees. I don t want to see it get chopped down.

Hello, I hope this isn t the wrong place to ask, but are the January batch of Teardown Toolkits back orders coming soon? I really look forward to a good, means tested toolkit to come since I became the family s computer technician over the pandemic. Sorry if this is the wrong place, but I haven t managed to find something mentioned anywhere recently about them.

those changes on intel, should have happened on 2018, after ryzen came, not in 2021, the results of these changes will at best happen in 20204, in 2024 we will get ryzen 3 nm with ai, accelerators, arm cores, intel will have to do some magic to catch up, because foveros won't be enough, and will not happen this year it seems

Great stuff. You addressed the mouse mats, but the tool kits have been backordered for a number of months, with a longstanding estimate of mid-January for those to come back in stock. I have an order in the system from October, and was just curious if there is any update as to the date. Cheers, and keep up the great content.

isn't the reason a mouse and keyboard is better is because the room you have with your mouse? I feel like a track ball in place of a joystick is just a gimmick. you still have the same range of movement until your finger hits the side, and if you spin it to circumvent that you lose the accuracy.

I know the topic is a bit dead now, but I remember you guys said you were going to do your own dedicated video about the nvidia debacle couple of weeks later. Was there just enough damage done to nvidia or are you guys still going to put out the video? Just curious really.

I'm very excited to see what Pat gets done. He's done a phenomenal job at VMware. Intel being competitive is good for the consumer. Would be cool to see AMD and Intel trade blows in earnest. Rather than Intel just fighting to not lose its crown to AMD in every metric.
