For years, these add on fan coolers since the Xbox360/PS3 days they have never worked... These are bought off parents for their children not realising they actually do nothing, if anything they are choking their console with added noise. They are nothing more than gimmicks , I would actually like to see if you can make your own that does it s job so we could potentially 3D print the base and make it ourselves, that ll be interesting.

Pretty sure 5 star reviews are payed reviews, one in particular is a copy paste from another fake product I saw somewhere awhile ago, they only changed the word PS5 and a few others. Do just like me before buying anything on internet, always look for 1 star reviews, those are the honest reviews most of the times. About the product it self... just another piece of sh t made in china.

Great and fun video. I'd love to hear Steve on the supply chain / economics of this beyond the obvious greed. Kind of a gross situation when you step back, completely useless plastic product promoted with fake reviews manufactured with who knows what labour conditions destined for landfill having performed no useful function. Silly but also gross.

Curious to see if the small one would work with the fans in the correct orientation.
The PS4 had a popular fan-bank that you could buy, but since the console auto-regulates the original fan it ended up just making a different sound, but still having about the same thermal performance with or without the attached fan-bank.

These only likely worked on the old gen units because foxconn is incompetent and the airflow was complete trash from the factory. Lets trust all the cooling of this device to a pull fan only at the back of the device. Yup that worked as expected coupled with their bracket design for the heatsink.

Just wondering why anyone would need a cooling solution for something that's designed to have nominal temps, I understand that not everyone is going to have it sitting in normal temps but I think if you've got enough money to afford a ps5, you're more than likely living in a place with Aircon.

Seeing how easy access there is to fans, i wonder if you could flip them upside down in order to get them actually exhausting... Do you think it would do a difference ? (i mean, it would, since they wouldnt be pushing back hot air anymore, but anything more ?)

NAhhhhh these guys aren't incompetent. They did their best guess because they clearly couldn't get a hold of an actual PS5 to do testing on.There are bound to be errors if not provided with an actual working production unit to design towards.

Reminds me a lot of the intercoolers from I think intec that were for the xbox 360 and ps3. They caused some otherwise stable systems to overheat which was the exact opposite of the reason why I or anyone else bought them in the first place.

I had something similar for my ps4 - not for cooling but for stability and to charge the controllers (never turned the fans on). It was cheap and did stop the ps4 tipping. The ps5 has a pretty stable base so no need for extra stability.
