Great review, dont give up on case reviews, they are a favourite. Dont know if I would get one of these, too many things that dont work for me.
I think it was GN that once suggested to drop Fractal a line directly at their website comment page, regarding case design ideas (maybe it was Jay ... hmmm).
So I did.
I detailed an idea for a better designed meshify style with ++ airflow, options for bigger so called E-ATX boards, proper room for properly mounted front AIO rad or 3x140 fans, custom loupes or large NH15's, scrap the foam dust filter and that weird front filter frame assembly, better cable routes, better multi SSD and HDD option spaces and other minor 'stuff they get wrong' fixes,
including having; 1) enough fans or 2) enough RGB fans or 3) no fans at all - purchase options.
aand explained how it could be done with a minimum of manufacture assembly line build variables and use mostly 'out of the fractal parts bin' approach.
Offered to coordinate to help ... for free (or maybe for 1 case).
I heard nothing. Crickets. I shouldn't be surprised (sigh)

I am thoroughly frustrated with case manufacturers. There are three case designs. The first is a flat-faced design that is made using solid plastic or glass, with the feature of restricted airflow. The second is a mesh front case which will have off angular facades and mesh that looks dented and warped at a glance. Then there are cases that look like Autobots, that literally no one buys. Why can't we get flat faced mesh cases, with good airflow and great aesthetics?

Why has no company come out with a reverse direction fan? Change the orientation of the fan blades so air moves in the opposite direction. For people that want to add extra fans while keeping ascetics good!
If for no other reason for when they make their show builds and you point out that those fans are mounted as exhaust so they can tell you well actually, this is our new product the reverse airflow fan. All of the cooling with all of the looks and all of the RGB

I bought my Fractal Arc Midi R2 6 years ago for 100 . We have been going backwards since then. There is nothing in the current market anywhere near 100 mark that can even remotely compete with that case on features level. Yeah, we have glass and RGB now but we have cut so many corners, it's not even funny. The case market have been going backwards in the last 5 or so years and praising this garbage as a good case just because it have good airflow is laughable.

Thank you for reminding everyone that closed loop radiators should be placed with the tubes down (although it looks way less cool). It's very hard to find this tiny but important bit of information anywhere on the web or user manuals for that matter. Speaking of user manuals, they never even touch in the subject of front mounted radiators which paradoxically make the most sense placementwise anyway.

can somebody explain to me why all these mid range cases dont have a back fan anymore?
even high end cases dont have back fans sometimes. i am searching a case with a good airflow for under 300 euro and i would like to have 3 front fans and 1 back fan stock. because i suck at building pcs. i dont want to include a seperate fan.
can someone here give me recommendations?

Nothing beats phanteks p600s yet and you've never gave it it's due credit. Fabric mesh looks nice as hell and hides the dusty filter beneath. The design with just 1 filter like cooler master will be a dust nightmare. And p600s glass has no studs.
There is no reason no to have a large mesh of fabric or other decorative material that does not block any air

I like the look of the case but there are a few flaws. Personal I would spend a bit more for the H500 Mesh, but on a budget this is a great option. The only major downside for me is the cable clearance which is a little too tight - I could buy a new PSU with flat cables but (1) that negates the cost advantage of the case and (2) who has any stock of PSUs!

I bought this case for child PC build at march for school (and gaming :) ). It was hard to get a white case for her that fit her taste and I felt should have a decent cooling. I am not a fan for top mesh as it feels flimsy. But we are both happy with our purchase. BTW she was the main PC builder at 8yo. :)

How about replacing stock fans with same-size Noctua fans, to correct for fan-specific performance? It would make more sense to test this case with 3xNF-A12 in the front, than the current standardized fan approach of 2xNF-A14 front + NF-F12 rear.
