Phanteks P360A Budget High-Airflow Case Review: Thermals, Noise, Cable Management

The Phanteks P360A is one of the cheapest high-airflow cases we've reviewed lately. It's not quite in the ultra-budget category, but it's cheaper than the competing Lancool 215, P400A, et al. Phanteks made the P360A slightly larger than the P300A and, more importantly, Phanteks added a second fan that the P300A really needed. In this review we ll look at how those changes compare the P360A to other Phanteks cases -- like the P300A and the P400A -- and to competing cases from other manufacturers. The budget airflow case category has become popular in the last few years (you re welcome), and the likes of the Lancool 215, Fractal Design Meshify 2 Compact (at the high-end), P360A, Fara R1, and other cases have brought options across the PC case stack. If you re looking for a cheaper airflow-focused case, the Phanteks P360A should likely be on the radar -- and our testing will benchmark whether it s worth it compared to alternatives. Looking for the best budget airflow case for a gaming PC is a lot easier with a market this packed.

Gamers Nexus I don't dislike Phanteks per se, however, having their Enthoo Luxe Tempered Glass case (a good case), their 'promise' (to me) of a replacement front I/O panel that would include Typc-C to accommodate motherboards' header for such, never came to be. Not a deal breaker, but for christ's sake, whoever is currently using this case would likely consider purchasing a replacement front I/O to allow for the Type-C and thus utilizing the header on the motherboard for such.
Why 4 years later we still don't have this front I/O replacement?
I mean, when I decide to build a new PC, why even create the opportunity for me to consider other case-makers, when all you gotta do is provide that front I/O panel replacement for purchase?
If I HAVE to buy a new case JUST FOR THAT(Type-C QoL), then you'll be darn sure I WILL NOT buy a new Phanteks case. I'd purposely look elsewhere.

Why have you not reviewed the LIAN-LI DYNAMIC MINI???? (Not shouting, just trying to get your attention)
I really really really want to see the Dynamic Mini reviewed to see how it does as I am considering it for a second PC build. My concern is that because you have not reviewed it despite reviewing every other Dynamic case is that something is wrong with the Mini. Everyone just gave fluff reviews on the case at launch, could there be an issue no one wants to say? Or am I just paranoid? Or did you think it's a niche case that no one will buy?
I am looking at it because I have a Dynamic XL but need a second computer on the same desk and want if possible to match appearance but don't need an XL size case for the second one.

an ok 'computer' case, from a case maker I usually associate with boutique royalty tier table centerpiece ornaments that arguably compete against the likes of BTU, Electrovert, Heller, Vitronics Soltec reflow convection ovens. I am impressed. I also appreciate the case doesn't look like an 80's Voltron vs Gobots toystore trash compactor aftermath.
E-ATX, like SSI EEB, what part of 13 inches (330.2mm), DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND! Grrrrrrr. lol. the case also lacks the extra row of EATX stand-off mounts in front of the ATX ones. it is a nice-looking ATX case, it just is NOT EATX.
Great vid Steve and crew. B)

Maybe you could take a look at the Fractal Focus G, it sells at less than 35, comes with (led) 2 fans and has a mesh front as well as multiple color options. It may be an older desing with 2 (exposed) 5.25 drive bays but what about cooling performance and value proposition, I'd be very interested in hearing your thoughts about how it compares to new(er) Designs, specially considering the current price...
TLDR: Fractal Design Focus G in 2021, 35 mesh case analysis please!

Love my Phanteks ECLIPSE P400S Tempered with the optional high air-flow front panel. Added two top fans and a rear fan. Running cool with an overclocked Ryzen 5 3600 (air-cooled) and overclocked 5700 XT. Takes my 3 x SSDs and 2 x HDDs fine. Spares and accessories are available at very reasonable prices. It does need dusting out more frequently due to the high air-flow front panel allowing slightly more dust in but not a problem. Would buy it again.

I bought the white version and returned it next day, it looks nice, and i assumed airflow will be good, but everything else was dissapointing, it feels very cheap, much worse than p400, and its small, not much room for cables, 160 mm cpu cooler barely fits too... I got bq 500DX for pretty much the same price, its one the ugliest cases on the market, but in terms of build quality etc its miles above 360a.

Good video! One potentially great competitor to the P360A I can think of is the Antec DF700 Flux. It s an airflow case, and it s 75-80 depending on the seller. It comes with 5 fans, one-upping the P360A and even the Lancool 215 you suggested as a competitor. I would love to see a review of the DF700 Flux to see how you think they stack up against each other!

Bought the P360a after seing your review of the P300a for my Ryzen 5600x build with an Hyper 212, added a pack of 3x fans from phantek for 40 CAD , perfect pricing, works great, super silent, the 3 extra fans servir as exhaust (back and top) helps with hair flow and cooling the tower heatsink for the CPU. Great case, looks great with 5 RGB fans.

I m not sure I agree with your closing statement that a non-ARGB version at 60 would be better. I m firmly in the no RGB camp, but even so, the issue is that there aren t decent brand-name ARGB fans on the market for 5 apiece. Moreover, it s a near-certainty that the non-RGB fans that Phanteks would substitute would be bottom-of-the-barrel quality.

Bought the P360A at the beginning of the year, excellent airflow+good temps+acceptable noise levels.
However you have to adjust the fan curves since they are not optimal.
Only downthing is that the LED strip (horizontally one) stopped working 1 month after my purchase. I got a new one and it works completly fine since then.
