Big Changes at GN: New Office Tour, Our Review Philosophy, & Our Goals

GN got a new office and is building it out custom for our testing lab. This means an expansion of testing facilities, equipment, and our accuracy and depth of content. We're excited! We have a huge shopping list of high-end testing chambers and equipment that you'd almost exclusively find at manufacturers and factories, but we're determined to bring manufacturer-level capabilities to public media coverage. If you'd like to help us as we progress toward those goals, please consider visiting the GN store or Patreon, linked below. In the meantime, we're going to be in the current (soon-to-be old) studio for a while yet. This is just a preview of what's to come sometime this year. Can't wait to get a thermal chamber, fan chamber, and other testing equipment. In this video, we also cover some of the basic philosophy for how GN reviews products and operates.

I like your perspective on the cost of a piece of hardware. It's frustrating to see people brush off the monetary cost of these things sometimes, maybe they make their money by streaming video games or mining so money comes without much hardship. I work for my money. That has taught me the value of money. It has also made me frugal. I _could_ buy a GPU at their currently inflated price but I won't because it's not worth the amount of effort I've put into making that money. So I'll wait and sure it isn't ideal, I've been gaming for 25+ years and my old GPU struggles with new titles to the point where I don't enjoy playing on it anymore so an important hobby is put on hold for possibly a very long time even but I can't justify the cost of a new GPU.

About your approach: I agree. Gaming and hardware are my biggest hobbies, but due to illness my finances are pretty meh. Saved up for several years to upgrade to my current system and having even 1 part of that build be wrong is a major downer for me as it would be a high alternative cost to fix. Luckily I had your reviews to help me and the build ended up flawless, except that my gpu haven't arrived that I ordered 8 months ago. (didnt mean to be a downer, just wanted to highlight that for some people that are not made of money this stuff matters a lot)

I really do think you guys have had a huge impact on some brands upping their case quality and airflow the last 5+ years, especially the last few years. Some companies clearly aren't paying attention cough nzxt cough but you can't get everyone. Thanks for pushing them to put out better products, prior builds were really limited on the cases that were truly good (last build was the phantom 820, which I think was you guys praising it that pushed me to spend so much) but now there's a huge number of great cases available at all price levels.

I have considered yall the epitome for any product review since I discovered yall, because of the aforementioned mantra the team shares and the absolute dedication to scientific level data. I take it as an absolute certainty that no matter what, yalls statements are true to the best of your knowledge AND yall have gathered more accurate knowledge than anyone else. I am positive yall hate to see this level of fanaticism (even directed at yall) but screw that, in this case, it is 100% earned.

Why did you yell at your cameraman for showing the mess, the whole building is a mess, I get your trying to make money off you new place since manic but if you were so worried why not wait till its ready? Again I get you are trying to make money to pay for it since your like my wife and worry its all going to collapse on you but supporting your entire family that is a big boulder to carry around. All you need to do now since you have a job is to cut your hair, you hippie?

That looks great! I'm personally really looking forward to better reviews on water cooling. It has allways been a bit sad I think that the products that the real enthusiasts use is the ones that gets the laziest reviews, mostly it's just oh look at this watercooled videocard, lets overclock it THE END. So hopefully you can do some real good water cooling reviews!

wow this space is insane! I think it's bigger than Jayztwocents. It looks like it's an old doctors office. I had a feeling you were going to need a bigger space soon, but this is beyond what I expected. This is amazing. I can't wait to see it finished and in use.

Big changes, you say?! I see right through you and your lies. All that new office crap is just an elaborate deception. The real reason for the new office is to lure and trap der8auer, and to keep him for yourself, like you always wanted to, Steve!
