It's a time-honored contractor tradition to hide trash in walls, cinder blocks and especially above drop ceilings. We had an HVAC condenser pump fail and water began collecting above the drop ceiling, which got very heavy with the water, and a huge area fell in. We got a rain of not only water and sloppy wet ceiling tile mush but ALSO hundreds of sharp sheet metal screws from the ducting contractor, and literally a bag's worth of garbage they'd hidden up there. Drink bottles, sandwich wrappers, half eaten sandwiches, lots and lots of burger wrappers, cigarette butts, and just random crap they'd put above the ceiling. When we complained to the HVAC guys, they were like 'well it wasn't like we hid dead fish up there' as if they actually do that when they want to F with people. Geezus.

Just a thought;
Ask Linus about the insulation system for his server room at his office.
He had to stifle the noise from his overkill racks, almost literally IN a used office space.
He packed it tight with sound insulation and a covering
The point is ... the fire proof code he got it to.
Now, he wasnt working towards your kind of noise floor requirements, you would need a few more specific layers of different products, but he did figure out the fire code part.
Plus; are you thinking during the power installs ... to have some of the plugs installed ABOVE counter heights at key places, so you dont have to reach under, or run power bars? Theres no reason they cant run plug boxes to the 4 foot level instead of 12 inches off the floor.

I would highly recommend that you consider some type of heavy duty locking system on the door to the fan room. Should you decide to do in-person tours of the new office in the future, I can only foresee an misbehaving fan wreaking havoc in the office. Depending on where you are located, there may be significant delays while waiting for law enforcement to arrive. It would therefore be prudent to include some sort of fan jail in the renovations.

Your new office looks amazing and it also looks friggin' huge!
I'm surprised that you decided to run Cat6 throughout rather than running, for example, like 10G fibre so that you can just drop in switches to where you need them and then be able to go with like Cat5e for the shorter distances.
Maybe in terms of cost effectiveness, it's a wash (between running Cat6 throughout vs running fibre?)

Mostly lived in houses that have had electricity put in some 70 years ago, slowly upgrading bits of it over time until the whole thing is just a mess. Why does it trip the main breaker for the farm if you have the washing machine and dishwasher on at the same time while it's raining? I dunno, and neither do the electricians who've looked at it!

Thanks, Steve! Hopefully things have been moving fast enough for you to see the progress because it really looks like a lot got done since the last update. Can't wait to see the finished space. I have a strange feeling you guys are going to get removed from a lot of fan manufacturers' Christmas card list Now, back to you, Steve!

My only option is Spectrum and it is god awful. Their customer service is just as bad. Your address doesn't exist. Like my guy, my house has been here since the 70s and the service junction is maybe 50 feet from my front door. I guarantee my address is gonna exist if I start poking around in there

Never seen someone invest so much money into I don't know's and I'm not sure yet . I would like to think you mapped out every area and decided precisely where everything will go and the purpose of every area. Construction is expensive.

I sure hope you have checked out the license and insurance of your contractor, because it looks like your going to have a few things to settle in court and if any of their credentials are bogus your screwed.

I am pretty sure the electrician write on the wall what outlet is for what (network, lighting, ups power, generic plug, etc )
Since the wall will be redone it make it easy to know what goes where .
