Mini-ITX Alternative to NZXT H1: Hyte Revolt 3 Case Review & Benchmarks

iBUYPOWER is now making cases in addition to its pre-builts. The Hyte Revolt 3 is a mini-ITX case that resembles the NZXT H1, except without a PCIe riser. We're reviewing it. The Hyte Revolt 3 ends up being mostly a visual alternative to the NZXT H1; it's similar in aesthetic, although technically a bit larger and different internally. The Revolt 3 is perforated on most sides and has complex airflow pathways given the GPU and CPU potentially cross-circulating air. Our testing looks at different airflow pathways and optimal configurations. :fax:: Random thought- I'd bet the exhaust fans from an original xbox 360 would perfectly fit in that spot where the 80 mil fans can go. The 360 used a dual 80 mil fan setup built into a single frame. You'd have to wire up your own connector though (it has a weird proprietary connector/pinout, of course) and mounting it would require some creativity.

Hey I want to recommend another thermal paste video, it's been a while since I have seen one and I have had so many recommendations for different brands ( KPx , thermal grizzly, noctua, arctic) and it would be cool to get some indepth testing and learn what scenarios to use which type/brand. For example I used kryonaut on my TR 2950x and after 6 months I checked it and it was hard as a rock. Then after reading the instructions it recommended something like less than 70C for max temp of use. Just a thought

Nah the nzxt h1 is way better, you get a integrated water cooler, i don't care what anyone else thinks about the riser cable. You really need a gen 4 cable anyway and you can take that gen 3 cable and unbolt it never even get into that situation where the bolts dig into the riser cable. The h1 is far superior in every way.

12:10 - ...but rest assured there are plenty of GPUs that won't fit like the phantom GPUs ...
I was only halfway listening and literally thought that there was a GPU brand called Phantom.
It doesn't even matter if there was, because you wouldn't be able to find them anyways...

I absolutely love not just the level of detail in your testing, but the fact that you consistently point out gotchas in testing methodology and warnings about what conclusions can be drawn from a particular data set. Keep up the good work!

But did they ever fix up the NZXT case? As it stands it's still readily availabe by retailers in my country, but at a price tag of around 400USD, you'd at least expect it to be more than a semi-decent looking plastic prop.

I always wonder with ratings like for that handle if they talk about a static load or a dynamic load, cause a quick grab and lift with greatly increase the load on it, doing that a few times cause you move around a lot idk.

Oh awesome! I just purchased this case last week. I attend a LAN party with friends about twice a year so the handle really appealed to me. Definitely a limited use case but it seems perfect for that.

This isn t meant to be a fire suppression design talking about the nzxt clc lol Steve you are getting too savage. Its like watching a roast crossed with a review.

70C for CPU under torture is perfectly acceptable meaning no point of testing anything else. Case closed. You guys over complicate things as usual.
