We're re-assembling a lot of video cards -- as many as we can in about a 1. 5-2-hour stream -- just because we really need to clear some table space. Sponsor: Gigabyte Z390 Master Motherboard - Amazon) The GamersNexus store still has coupon code BLACKFRIDAY active until midnight EST tonight! You can get 15% off of anything in our store with the code as long as the order is placed before 11: 59PM Eastern Time on 12/4. Buy the GamersNexus GPU disassembly toolkit: Buy the GamersNexus modmat (like what we're using in this stream): We're using Arctic MX-4 thermal paste for this endeavor. It's on Amazon here: We're also using blue shop towel (Amazon):

Not that your magnet method doesn't work, but I think you are making this more difficult on yourself. Not to mention the second a manufacturer chooses to use aluminum or titanium screws for heat transfer reasons. It will be a bad day with the magnets/magnet tray method. A really good alternative method is generic micro fiber sunglasses bags. They are sold online in huge multi packs. It's cheap effective way to keep small parts together without getting lost or damaged parts.

I heard Jay bring up a good point about backplates, he mentioned their usefulness as just simple protection rather than as another heatsink. I totally see why that might be a thing companies want to put on their cards to prevent RMAs and just to give the look and feel of a robust product. I know they can be poor for thermal performance but I definitely see why they are adding them even as plastic ones. I hope that makes some sense.

Taobao is for domestic Chinese products for a domestic Chinese audience. Tmall is for imported (from the Chinese perspective) products for a domestic Chinese audience, even if they were made in China, exported and re-imported. AliExpress is for domestic Chinese products for a foreign audience, you pay the English tax for AliExpress.

1: 36: 50 - (the guy who asked about regression in games but not in Heaven) That benchmark is designed to be almost pure GPU, it hardly uses the CPU at all. Thus, it won't be stressing any CPU oc, so the guy who asked probably just has an unstable CPU oc.

Regarding thermal paste. I mixed kryonaught with the one that comes in the noctua nhd-15s box, because i didn't have enough to cover the whole cpu die. Will that impact thermal performance much, considering that they both are quite high end compounds?

i wish i had this notified. thank youtube. i requested this a while but can you do a thermal paste and pads change to the red dragon vega 56? i know its old now but users might be changing thier Thermal paste and pads nowadays as its 1 - 2 years old now

smaller + higher rpm =/= more static pressure as the tangential velocity of the fan blade where it matters (the outside portion) may be equivalent or greater on a larger diameter yet slower rpm fan. (given everything else is equal)

going out and buying the factory paste from China, in case you need to retest and compare cards, is one of the reasons why I will trust your reviews and and put them near the top of the opinion pile. thanks.

In regard to the rgb shampoo that someone suggested, heat reactive hair dye does exists and so does shampoo with non permanent hair dye In short GN RGB shampoo for more fps is a possibility if Steve wants it to be
