Regarding the GPU prices I just got an RX 6600. I was originally hoping for a 3060 ti so I could run a few games with ray tracing on, but the way NVIDIA is holding their prices up, I just couldn't do it. I'm sticking with my 1080p monitors for the time being, and the 6600 was 55% the price of the absolute cheapest 3060 ti I could find over this last weekend. I just can't justify that price premium for the difference in performance.
I don't know how the prices compared in the US over Black Friday / Cyber Monday, but here in Canada, I was only seeing 50-70 off the cheaper 3060 ti's (about 10% off), which was pretty surprising to me. The more expensive 30XX cards were getting much larger discounts, but they were still out of my price range. So, this'll be my first AMD card. Not that I've had any major preference, NVIDIA cards have just typically been competitive when I've bought them previously.
I'm curious to see what the AMD software is like and love that they aren't locking things like FSR behind specific hardware. The direction NVIDIA is going lately has really put me off. Pushing prices and power consumption through the roof, gigantic card sizes, and locking all their software stuff (such as DLSS) to only their cards. It's all just getting a little much. So I appreciate that AMD is being a little more reasonable in those respects.

Stop helping obvious scammers against newegg. It makes us others, who are not scammers pay more for their mischief... this behavior is borderline illegal, using GN popularity to subdue a company into a refund that should never be done, but they do it nevertheless to not receive negative publicity from you. This hurts actual customers who are not scammers. For this kind of thing the customer should be guilty until proven innocent. They get the email about documenting the opening process. If they have no video proof it's up on them. A company cannot refund products if people just say: there was no product inside - they would be quickly out of business as soon as the refund process is known widely. Trust the company not the individual in this special case. The company has something to lose (reputation), while the individual has only something to gain by trying (scamming). If it really happens to somebody and the investigation wrongly evaluates to a no refund they should take a hit for the rest. The individual is the least important it this case, we overall are more important than a single individual, we want newegg to have good prices without refunding thousands of scammers.

Newegg Canada froze and closed my account for an order that I never placed. The order was caught in transit and sent back to them, originally their rep told me to call my bank to request a chargeback, so I did this. But after that they refunded the order days after they received it back at their facility. They still have not unlocked my account with about 10 years of pretty dense purchase history. So I will just never order anything from newegg ever again, even though it can be easier at times to get some products with them they were very rude and suspicious of me throughout the whole process and immediately closed my account forever before I could even print off previous invoices. The only reason newegg has made any changes in the favor of the customers that have been affected by any issue is because you have brought them up, you had a god damn binder full of reported issues and that wasn't even all of them! In the end I had the order refunded but I still don't have a newegg account and will never register a new one, f em!

As for the Newegg thing. People should really take videos of them opening because it is harder for retailers to refute, where as pictures do not tell the whole story sometimes. Someone could take a picture of a sealed item, open it it, take out the item and replace with something else then take another photo saying that's what they find, I am sure this goes on from time to time.
A video is different as it should be seamless etc. and really can't be refuted. Just a tip, also, you can take a still pic from the videos also if required. Access to a video is way better and doesn't need to take long. This should be with anything expensive.

That NewEgg story -> As a business owner launching a story with that weak background is absolutely horrendous for businesses.
We get constantly attacks in that style with false information, it's very normal especially on Reddit.
It's so easy to fake something like this to attack your competitors, and the mob often takes it as gospel and absolute truth -- at least seemingly. Since anyone can anonymously post on reddit, attacker can just use sock puppet accounts to make it look like this.
Sometimes it's just because people love misery, and misery loves company. Anything negative just gets upvoted.

The guy put the weights into the box and now is trying to scam newegg :D
I feel this should go into court. It does not matter which side is scamming. Scammers need to be punished.
Only video proof of opening the box will be evidence enough that the weights were already inside.
And since the weights are machined from real metal this makes me think that indeed it is a scam, but not scam for money of GPU but scam for publicity.
No normal scammer would go machine metal bricks to put inside. They would put other non valuable weight like stones.

If newegg pulled that shit with me. I'd say screw talking to them after they locked my account. I would just take them to court here in Texas. I'd have every right to do so. I made the legit effort to go through their system and they respond in that manor. I have no legal obligation after that to abide by any part of their agreement after that. They acted in bad faith.
What Newegg needs to do is fire the idiot who came up with that policy idea of locking an account before it is proven to be a scam.

The problem with lower end cards like the Rx 6600 and the rtx 3060 is that they are still too expensive, when there are options like 1080Ti for 200 which still destroys them across the field. GTX 1070, the one I have I still a capable GPU and goes for like 120-150. The only upgrade from that which makes sense is RTX 3080/RX 6800 but those are still basically 6 times more expensive and offer less than double the performance gains. That's why everyone is waiting for RDNA 3.

From what I've found the single best FPS per dollar on the used market you will find is the 1080 TI, 3060 Ti, 6700/6700 XT, RTX 2070 Super. I still have my 1080 Ti going strong today so I highly recommend to anyone else trying to nab one at 250 or below if you want a great CSGO GPU for 3-400fps at 1080p. If you don't play the newest titles at the highest settings above 1080p then the 1080 Ti is a certified hood classic workhorse GPU. (obviously only buy the ones with 3 fans)

keep the Newegg content up and report on how they handle customers.
once this story is a positive i will return some of my purchasing back to Newegg.
the percent of purchases since your Newegg MB expose have been 0.00%
once Newegg tends to do the right thing i will see them as a viable source of components.
Newegg has gone to the if i cant get it anywhere else i will see if i really still need this item ( normally can find alt source) even for more moneys.

This and other videos have basically made me never buy from Newegg as they just can t be trusted.
As for the commenters on the Reddit post anyone can say anything without needing to provide proof that what they said is true, personally if someone says something contradicting something someone else has posted I won t believe it unless they can provide some form of believable proof (I m not talking them posting a link to something like the Enquire)

It's already strange seeing a free software project like OBS being regarded as the industry standard but even more so with FFmpeg. I'm friends with a former developer and when I first used it two decades ago, it was this shady hacky project for Linux that you had to get from a separate repository than your distribution's, hosted on a Hungarian domain because of licencing issues with certain codecs. How times change.

13:26 But why is it called: Old Bridge ? I get that they name their CPUs after Lakes, but what would be the successor from an old Bridge?
Edit: If they mean the Ponte vecchio in Venice then I was dump. But there are not so many famous bridges in the world so my point with the scalability still kinda stands.
Edit 2: Intels naming team is smarter than I and I should have watched the whole video

Once, my regular UPS driver either stole my Newegg package or delivered it to the wrong house (happens pretty often with this guy) and Newegg did refund me, after essentially interrogating me over the course of several emails and requesting video evidence that no delivery occurred (which I did provide). Since then, Newegg has been much easier to deal with whenever there's an issue with an order.
