Quick clarification on the Intel piece where IFS being up 300% Intel explicitly stated that this is NOT (yet) revenue related to wafer production. No chips other than test chips are yet being made for external customers. Rather, this is related to the sale of chip manufacturing EQUIPMENT to other fabs (such as TSMC, Micron, Samsung, Global Foundries). They develop some of their own equipment for their fabs, and some of it they actually sell to others in the industry - which makes sense because it has to be close to 90% gross margin after the sunk costs are taken out of the equation. It s basically free money as far as Intel is concerned, so why not? Anyway, they ve been selling equipment like that for a long time and it s nothing new. They just had a really big quarter as far as that goes. But it has absolutely nothing to do with their push to become a wafer supplier for other chip designers like nVidia, Apple, or even AMD.

I pre-ordered one of those 8bitdo keyboards. I do not understand how its only 100. I have one of their SN30 pro controllers and the quality is very good for third party. This is why I have a hard time understanding the 100 price tag with the feature set it has along with the large macro buttons. The only way I can understand the price is either the quality is going to be terrible or they are barely making any money on them.
I went with the NES version even though I think the famicon version is better looking. The only reason I did this is because my keyboard for the past 2 years has been red and I am kinda tired of it. If its good quality then I will be buying the famicon version to have as back-up or sell later along with the weird mouse they are selling.

MSI MEG Z790 GODLIKE Gaming Motherboard for 1,200 is a massive Intel 13th Gen motherboard which you would THINK supplies everything you could ever want in an EATX form factor, but sadly simply does not provide the power to the onboard iGPU, which eliminates the Passthrough function. WiFi it has; Thunderbolt it has; Passthrough it doesn't.
For the cost of the board, one would think MSI would provide the functionality, but it doesn't. Not only that, MSI doesn't tell you anywhere, Hey, guys, we don't provide power to the iGPU! . Not one mention. We only know thanks to Wendell.
That might not be totally unethical, but it's mighty shady. Don't see that MSI has the high ground here.

Was I the only one looking for Lucky somewhere in the background at the end of the video?
Party Animals is great. It's basically Gang Beasts but with cute animal skins & more silly weapons & stages. My little group of friends were in the alpha & we're pumped for the game. Don't think I'll be buying a Sapphire Radeon or custom case for it but it's cool to see Sapphire dipping their toes into the themed cards market.

G'day Steve,
That last MSI thingy doesn't seem like MSI posted it themselves but more like a FanBoi that just got angry at the title without ever watching the video to understand what it was about, which was it is cool but it will probably void your AMD warranty.
Ps With my B450M Gaming Plus after the other BIOS update that unlocked Athlon 200GE I got mine up to 4GHz, it didn't unlock the IGP like 3000 though.

I'm the last person to be critical of people's keyboard preferences, but I honestly don't understand why so many people consider TKL keyboard layouts to be a dealbreaker, when standalone numpads
exist
are pretty cheap
can be tucked away for more mouse room, or moved around for left-handed use
take up at most one extra USB 2.0 port, which are hardly in short supply on desktop computers these days

i can see a Dad building a computer with that case and gpu for his daughter so fast your head will spin. i stood in line for every harry potter book and Movie just for that connection you get with your kid when you have something they love that connects them to someone they love and if building pc's is your thing here is a way to introduce them to your world and both that case and gpu look very nice.

Numpad is a necessity for me, which really runs counter to how most enthusiast keyboards are designed.
I find it weird that full-sized is pretty much the standard for cheap keyboards, but expensive ones almost always have fewer buttons - and therefore less functionality. At the very least I would expect a pretty even spread of sizes, but that is far from the case.

I do like how the 8bitDo looks... but... I bought an 8BitDo controller to use with my switch and PC to play retro games back in the day. It constantly refused to pair with either, was glitchy as hell, and 8BitDo IMMEDIATELY ceased supporting it after I bought it. It looked nice and felt nice to use... when it worked, but it was so much hassle that I quickly gave up.

yeah the cable is not user error steve for how many generations has gpus required ext cables now since the 4000 its the consumers fault i think humans have no issues plugging in a cable you claim to be for the consumer then quit blaming consumers you know well enough Alex did an outstanding job investigating the issue its not the cable side its the GPU side

Seperate standalone numpads are a common thing. That way i have tons more desk space using a 60% when gaming, then my laptop or another standalone numpad when/if needed. Hated having so much deskspace wasted when i wasnt using it, plus now i only use a numpad at work really but otherwise, USB numpad that plugs into the keyboard, bam.

Steve missed the opportunity to mention that the Helos thermal grease slabs are Harmless. Which is really what separates them from the stuff you get at the drive-thru. Which if you'll excuse me, I need to go get myself some not Harmless grease slabs. Hi, can I get a double #3 with a large fry and a diet soda? Nope, that's everything, thanks!

FWIW, I just went to the MSI forum out of curiosity. That moderator seems to help in every thread. But yeah.. that comment with the video posted did not come across very well. Don't attack them for one comment made on a help thread though (imo). We all make mistakes. That's a bit much. We don't need to be petty.

weren't the AMD Pro cards supposed to use cDNA? They made a big fuss over rDNA being the gaming architecture and cDNA (an evolution of GCN) be used for professional and compute tasks, with no gaming oriented instructions in it. I have yet to hear of anything being put out that uses cDNA,I dont think.

MSI getting butthurt is nothing new, thats about how they handle any real issues with their products such as when their bootup times. Their motherboards was slower than gigabytes, they got mad for being exposed by Hardware Unboxed instead of just fixing the issue (which still plauges them today).

It don't look good for the industry... nobody has any funds to waste on gamer computers and they won't for several years. Unless the fed money printers go brrrrrrrrrrrr, we will be looking at most brands going bankrupt or selling off.
In canada... a new i5 is 450... we going nowhere.

Hey... So your sponsor got me thinking; I want to custom fab a desk and mount the mobo & part into it. Upside, there will be way more ventilation given I can install more than just PC fans (quieter & also incorporate a furnace filter). Anyone think of a downside?

2:34 Let's hope Intel doesn't do what DuPont did. Move into a beautiful, rural area because they needed super clean ground water for their silicon processes. Then, a few decades later they closed it down and left behind highly contaminated ground water and soil.

Nvidia is already have production samples made on Intel's 3nm line and Jensen said it was meeting their yield and performance targets. I suspect that the delay in the 5000 series may be because Nvidia is waiting for Intel to get their Fabs running at full speed
