Any company that says anything about warranty sht like that is a likely POS company, i am aware that i am in the very small minority that has dissembled and assembled extremely carefully more than 1000 cards so far (repasted and put new and even better thermal pads, doing some soldering changing VRAM chips and MOSFET among other electronic components) so many times in my line and not single damage was ever made by doing so because some of us are not complete monkeys (also that's my job, i fix PCs for life and i have a degree in electrical engineering) so it doesn't mean these warranties should always apply EQUALLY because i also understand why these warranty policies are there in the first place, because the majority of people don't have my background so they can extremely easily f up their hardware and then go back to any manufacture and claim it was not done by them and it was a hardware issue but still there has to be a limit to what can be claimed user error and companies are taking such safe (for them approach) it's insane, recent example Asus with GN.
And like, if don't want me to open the GPU and have to repaste and change thermal pads, put good ones that last so i don't have to do that and you are unlikely to have related warranty return issues like that, but no, there's where planned obsolescence comes into play so that's why they won't and someone needs to start slapping people with spades (i am not actually mean this, i am use it as a metaphor) so companies create new policies in regards as to how they handle warranties.
If thermal past and/or thermal pads are changed and they are proven to not have caused any damage by doing so which can be quite easy thing to find out, then whatever company you are, just stfu and check why that GPU isn't working anymore instead of just calling it: oh it doesn't have the sticker it must've been botched so bad.
Stop making baseless assumptions and trying find excuses to prevent warranties and RMAs, start doing the f'ing work which is included in the initial price tag.
And for people who f their GPU regardless of incompetence/ lack of skill or knowledge, don't you f'ing dare anyone else other than yourself f'ing it up because we are mostly in this warranty and repair issues because of you. You don't know how to fix it
Try to find a certified person (like me) who will treat your GPU as if it's something as sacred as goddess (making metaphors, you get the point, i mean extremely careful) because i am just very passionate at doing my work and i will make sure that i will treat it in one of the best ways it should be treated.

By the Tech Gods. Is there any company I can buy PC parts without been paranoid about it Although, somehow, even with their warranty data screw up. MSI still winning for my next GPU. Gigabyte was second. PNY was near the bottom after they refusing to honor some warranties. But if they fix that. I'm willing to bump them up. Asus is at the bottom now. Although if I go AMD PowerColor I think was on top.
The controller thing, is not just causal. Is that there are a lot of new games that play better with controller. Like devs put very little effort on keyboard and mouse. Although some is understandable. All my latest are either console ports or fighting games.
30 Mbps is still good. I have to deal with Theoretical 8. Which is usually half or less. And I'm often stuck on the Kbps. No, note kidding.

Hey Steve/GN!
I searched through your various reviews and haven't found any reporting on Be Quiet!'s CPU air coolers in nearly a decade. I've heard from several people that their newer air coolers, specifically the Dark Rock Pro 4 (and now there's a Dark Rock Pro 5), were beating their competitors significantly, and even beating some larger (360mm) closed loop coolers. These are not claims I've tested or found by the manufacturer, but from friends I know who have them.
Personally, I have no experience Be Quiet coolers, but I do use their fans and I like them very much. I would love to see how BQ's modern CPU air coolers compete against Noctua's with your testing.
Thanks!

Valve has just done a great job of supporting controllers with the Steam input api. The api also makes it easy in theory to match ingame icons with the controller you're using. Of course not all games do that still, but a lot do and this post from Valve might push more developers to prioritize the Playstation layout at least. It's actually surprising to me that Joy-cons didn't make the chart. I have multiple ffriends that use Joy-cons for some reason and since it's such a popular console I would have thought that maybe the usage was great enough that it would get a mention.

If AMD has been sandbagging with their IPC claims on Zen 5 and they manage to hit the market with sufficient availability, reasonable pricing in accordance with the current downturn in all consumer electronics, and mange to get X3D SKUs to market in a timely fashion, I think this could very well be the product cycle where AMD breaks 50% in consumer desktop. I don't have data to back it up, but it looks like they've already broken 50% in DIY desktop. If not world wide, then at least in Europe and North America.

What ever you do, Don't buy a NZXT power supply. My C1000 blew up because poor quality soldering inside it leading to it shorting out inside it.
Then NZXT refused warranty because I admitted to using it for AI training with 1X 3090 which they defined as a server tasks and it being a gaming PSU in there words that void the warranty.
Also if you do have one don't fall for them fishing for a reason to void the warranty like I did by saying what I was using it for. Should of just said gaming only.

Regarding the Noctua screws thing - I don't think would be cool to have to separately send an email for a product that is so much overpriced compared to the next best which is like 1/5-th to 1/3-rd the price. Either just change the screws or include a second pair. Paying so much and having to wait for shipping additionally afterwards is not cool. Not that I know also why would you buy Intel at all at the moment, but that goes to a whole different topic.

I work in warranty claims for another company and no, stickers don't matter, although some stickers still exist from the old days, those can just be ignored. You are free to disassemble, replace parts such as ssd's and ram, install a custom OS, as long as you do not physically damage the product, that's the only thing that voids your warranty and no, a small scratch on the outside of the case doesn't count... looking at you MSI!

GamersNexus - Re the NH-D15 G2 ... and I'll keep it short.
- I have an older NH-D15 - bought in 2018 or so.
- I want to swap out the stock NF-A15 fans it came with,
- with these new NF-A14x25r G2 fans - on my older cooler.
... is there any, and if there are any, temp improvements, what are they
Its fair to imagine a lot of existing NH-D15 customers is considering this option ... just buy 2 new fans, improve temps.

Sony ending Blue Ray physical disk production is yet another example of content companies promoting piracy. There is now no legitimate way an individual can physically purchase content. Given that, it is difficult to find fault with people copying content on their own to prevent future loss of access to it when the owner changes business models, is sold to another company or just turns off the server because, F you that's why.

sounds like; if the ftc is concerned what they actually mean, but can't legally say, is the giant bull of the ftc is coming and youre about to get gored because the 3 cases cited don't sound like dodgy workarounds of the ftc law but direct, explicit, contravention of the ftc law.
basically, they aren't saying oh this thing fell off a truck they are saying this thing is stolen. we stole it and now we are selling it.

Unless they took extreme countermeasures it's hard to imagine that some slice of the controllers Steam counted as XBox are not, in fact, Playstation controller users utilizing one of several frameworks that emulate an xbox controller and hide the playstation hardware entirely from userland APIs. Furthermore things like analog keyboards also show up as xbox controllers although perhaps this wouldn't have fooled them.

As dog turd as I think monopoly is, anti-trust investigations are basically their ways of taxing these companies for making money in their country, but can't get any tax out of it, so they slap a fine to tax it.
They don't work, the companies will pay the fine and continue to do what they do. Literally the same for EVERY one of them. It simply sounds better than you no pay tax, we tax anyway.

I'm honestly surprised that Noctua didn't catch the problem with the screws, but I wasn't surprised that they immediately coughed it and offered a solution.
(I bought a second-hand D15 off eBay and contacted them to buy a second set of spring clips... they asked me for a picture of the cooler, and then just SENT them to me, free of charge.
_Incredible_ customer support.)

uhm... I have a mediocre internet speed of 500MBps (up and down), for $27 per month (Flat rate!)
Still amazed by US internet. Think ours was that bad 15 years ago, but never at that price, and always flat rate.
Oh, and I also have 100MBps 4/5G on my phone for $25/month as well. But that has a limit of 100GB what I didn't use previous months..

All that r&d on the d15 gen2, and they can't even make the fin stacks go up to the top of the 140mm fan. And you can get an aio cooler for cheaper that performs better. Really disappointed with Noctuas high prices and low performance. Get with the program. Make some 30mm thick 120s and 140s. It's like you're not even trying anymore, Noctua.

If magnus and moss is enforced there is no doubt they will put magnus and moss compliant on the box as if it is a feature and not enforced at the end of a gavel. These companies are unsufferable. Its like yeah it is certified or else it shouldnt be allowed. This kind of feature deception is extremely shitty and exudes corpo sleeze.

I semi sympathise with them on the warranty sticker thing because some people are monkeys with a club when it comes to replacing thermal paste.... But at the same time it's too much of an out and franky returns and replacements will always be a small fraction of what they sell barring a black swan recall event.

Noctua coolers, they last multiple socket generations because they offer brackets for future sockets when they come out. I've been using them for over a decade on 2 PCs. I don't think anyone else does this and makes them such incredible value for money over time. You really need to include that in your reviews.
