Another issue with corporations that come to mind. While everyone may think of a corporation, as being highly efficient... they are very slow when it comes to implementing procedures and policies. Typical month-two month time frame is pretty common, even with the most urgent issues. This could have also already been in the works for awhile now, but the customer relations team wasn't up to date yet. The lower rungs of the ladder, are usually the last to hear about it. Unfortunately, customers are also considered the lower rung, to a corporation. Working in customer service can be a very frustrating job, both because you have to deal with the idiots from the top, and the idiots who think they deserve 10 bars of gold because they were inconvenienced by a defect. I guarantee you, there will be jerks calling in and demanding, 100s an hour to repair their own case.

BRAVO ZULU GN!!!!!!!
Sad that it took honest and thorough journalism to set the company straight in its corrective actions. You would think NZXT would've come to this conclusion without the assistance of a third party like GN. The fact that it took so long and over a series of baby steps suggests money was the driver, not consumer safety. In my opinion, NZXT has suffered irreparable damage to its own reputation by its OWN ACTIONS (or lack thereof). Something appears to be wrong in this company and even if a customer riser recall is performed successfully, there is something deeper that it needs to do and it starts with a mirror. Again, in my opinion.
I wish them luck and success in their endeavors; in the meantime, I will be taking my business to the competition. Just hope the competition takes notice and avoids these pitfalls.

I was honestly questioning their brand after the screw fix but after seeing this response and the company handling it how they should and following through sending out new cables I am more happy with their brand and have my faith restored that this is indeed a one off not a new normal. The response may have been late or maybe even slightly coerced from them but I am very happy to hear it came out!! You wouldn't believe the number of companies that would just deny and point the finger at improper installation or faulty house electrical supply etc. I am actually impressed with their response.

Nice Vid and nice USS Enterprise B Modell in the Background. :)
Hm, why NZXT do not upgrade the Riser if they just have to redesign it... they can upgrade it directly to PCIe 4.0 - there are several finished designs from different vendors out there right now. [u adressed it, okay - sure ure right. but i hope there will be an PCIe 4.0 capable Version - its a nice case it would be a shame if it would stay on the old Technology]

Whilst this is dangerous for everyone using this riser, it seems particularly dangerous for reviewers.
Not that I'd think Gamers Nexus wouldn't keep the acrylic screws with the riser with a full warning notice.
But someone less careful, with a zero attention span and a fast and loose approach to PC builds could have burnt his entire multimedia production company to the ground. So no more LTT...

the only thing I see is that NZXT got the PCB from a cheap supplier that don't care about security, also why the hell you have a power plane next to a screw, they don't even need to have any plane that far from the socket OR if you need to have power that far you add more PCB without any layers to get more space to avoid this problem (make the damn holes more distant from the socket )

Its not a fix, its a mitigation. It can only be classified a fix if there is ZERO chance of the issue arising ever again. Removing all H1 cases from the public and recall is a FIX. Redesign to move the Power away so that no screw of any length can touch is a FIX. Nylon screws and washers are a MITIGATION to the issue and doesnt solve anything.

Steve , you are right to mention that in this case the trouble is trace airgap not being sufficient ! but plastic screw in this case was likely a fair enough option (unless the hole was drilled in multiple trace ? Only the maker of the unit would know ( your friend last night mentionned it was branded , WINNER (hahaha)

We didn't account for scenarios where someone would replace the nylon screws with metal ones unknowingly Lol....you shipped with metal screws initially. They are effectively covering up the reason for the nylon screws in the first place.
What you should be apologizing for is not knowing how to build a PCB.

I'd say good for NZXT for actually acknowledging the issue, even if not merrily. We know from the older Gamers Nexus videos (and elsewhere) about other companies threatening, being silent or downright downplaying their issues to nothing much. And many people forgot, don't know or just don't care about those.
