Dear US government, if you are somewhat resistant to Microsoft and other corporate SHITBAGS buying up everything around then and then eliminating 'excess' staffing, why don't you try GROWING SOME FUCKING BALLS and BLOCKING THE SALE for once. Intel should be pissed off that it spends billions of dollars already investing in new fabs because it is slated to receive this money and loans. intel already ordered all the ASML machines that can be made for the next year to build these new fabs.
Now the government is paying them like they should be. While foreign-owned companies are getting the Chip Act money, without even starting any fabs in the US. The House just passed a bill that will block foreign-owned companies from getting US tax dollars, not that the Senate will pass the bill or biden will sign it into law. While vanguard and blackrock keep buying up intel stock at a cheap price, sounds like a fix-it-in for some people to make a lot of money as a congress rep.

Welp, Nintendo have officially won the console wars and they didn't even need to do anything. Sony and MS have shot themselves in the foot by allowing almost all of their first party exclusive titles to be available on PC as well (even with a 6 month delay) and then starting to scrap physical media.. and then charging enormous amounts for their 'upgraded' consoles. There is really no benefit to having a PS or XBox over a strong gaming PC at this point, and I see a lot of people like me, have a gaming PC and a Switch now... oh, and a ton of people complaining that Nintendo doesn't license their first party titles to be available on PC lol.

I love how the European Union is seen by SONY as the place with more money when most of their countries are suffering a lot with very low wages.
It's clear as water that they've the numbers about who spends online and they're targeting those and only those. And if it fails, at least they got their spending, in theory, covered.
I hope that their Apple strat backfires really hard and most SONY players jump to PC after that.

I still remember a big part of why I bought a PS2 was because it came with a DVD player. At the time I think it was around the same price as a DVD player but you got to play PS2 games too! :D And the PS2 was my only DVD player for a long time. Then the same with the PS3 and Blu-ray. I think I might not buy any more Sony or MS consoles now. If Nintendo keeps bringing out consoles that use cartridges I'll keep buying those. Otherwise it's GOG/DRM free PC games for me.

Yea os ya laing on tha box it is very bad .. but mebye the have a solution for tha to play nativ in 8k with a a GPU with 2300 shedre cors ! Or thy ar just laing agen... Defenly probably videos in 8k. Tha yes it is posibel. So yea tha is all bad

For price comparison between US and EU you always have to keep in mind, that US prices are without VAT, while european (at least in germany) are always with VAT. Because VAT in the US varies from state to state. No one pays the advertised prices. But they are closer, because VAT in the US is quiet a bit lower across the board. In germany, its 19%, as far as I know, its around 5-8% in the US, which can make a vast difference in the actual price consumers pay.

ps5 pro obviously not targeted towards most of the gn viewers as they are mostly younger audiences. i was young once too, so i fully understand the sticker shock. i've been a gamer for almost 40 years. i will be getting the ps 5 pro, i don't care if it costs $2000. it's still a vastly cheap hobby compared to say modding//tuning cars or golf, etc etc. today's young generation will be in my shoes 10-20 years from now and will understand.

The beautiful irony here is that a lot of people who are complaining about the $700 price tag will have absolutely no problem spending $1200 every year on the newest iPhone.
Nobody seems to realize that the cumulative inflation of the US dollar from 2020 to 2024 was over 21%, that alone adds $100 to the price of the system when compared to the PS5’s original pricing that you can’t blame Sony for.

The iFixIt soldering iron is honestly not as cool as I was hoping for. For a company like iFixIt, I would've expected the tips to be non-proprietary. I believe they are proprietary though sadly. That would've been the one thing that would make me pick their portable soldering iron over a cheap non-portable iron for the same price or over any other portable iron on the market.

Holy crap that iFixit soldering iron kit is expensive. Especially since it uses PROPRIETARY soldering tips.
At that price point, I’d rather go with a TS101 or a Pinecil V2, along with a nice powerbank. For 50-20% of the price (depending on how good of a powerbank you get), Also, you don’t need to connect it to the internet unlike the ifixit soldering iron.

Cant overstate how big the PS3 BluRay inclusion was. My boomer parents bought and still own a PS3 because it was the cheapest bluray player on the market at the time.
I worked in electronics retail when it released and saw a slew of customers buy the PS3 for that reason - customers who said to me they had no intention of using it as a gaming console.

As a very cheap portable soldering iron alternative to the iFixit one, I can recommend PINECIL.
It's basically a USB-C powered soldering iron and you bring your own power delivery ... such as a simple powerbank with high enough output (e.g. Quick Charge 3.0 or sth). There you go, you have the iFixit style soldering iron for far less than 100 bucks

I don't have any problems with the price, but then again I'm mainly a PC gamer that is used to spending triple that to build a good Gaming PC. The upside to the price is scalpers are going to have a lot of trouble moving product, meaning availability will be better than the PS5 was, which took a long time to even become available.

Considering that in some parts in Israel they still sell the ps5 close to 600 bucks, i could see the ps5 pro hitting 1200-1400 mark and that's without the stand and disc drive also not including the 17% tax
My whole ass pc with m&b and a 1440p ultrawide monitor costed me about 1.8k (some of the parts bought second hand)

PS5 Pro is going to fail, which means they might not use the chip as basis for the ps6, which might lead to the ps6 shipping with a slightly weaker apu, and by then the left over pros will be bought up as stores try and get rid of their old stock as cheaply as possible, leading to sony reaping what it sowed.

Personally i dont understand the criticisms of the eu pricing. Most european countries have somewhere around of 20% VAT recycling tax. That heavily puts its price in perspective. Imho eur price is mostly fine and in line with the us price. And not to forget the Yen price which went to the cellar this year.

I got my ps3 for 700 dollars when it came out. I am pretty sure the ps3 was originally that price. It could have just been more expensive in my region though. I remember it being 700 though, and on the first night I got it I had to spend like 11 hours downloading an update for metal gear solid 4.

The way Steve COOKED PlayStation and Cerny for the smoke is glorious.
Fanboys think a guy coming out talking cool stuff means that guy is unique. Not saying Cerny is not such a great engineer, but Nvidia have 15 dudes easily better than Cerny and I don't see them getting the spotlight.
