I did the opposite. I dumped and old flip phone for a smart phone. That old flip phone not even running Android but some sort of obscure OS with seemingly almost no apps available. It has a 3 MP camera and took 20 minutes to send a photo to my Mother who wanted to see something at a store. That is when I decided enough is enough and got rid of that antique! Verizon is probably cutting off support for it at the end of the year anyhow as they discontinue older cellular services and upgrade towers. 20 minutes to send a photo that isn't even good quality? As I walked around the store trying to get a good signal I was truly thinking this must be someone's idea of a joke! That was last month I sent that photo too so don't tell me it was many years ago phones were like that! It is just an old device that strangely seemed to still work but the signal was weak in a lot of parts of this house. Heck, I could not guarantee a connection with that thing even if I was standing near a tower. Never again will I suffer the irony of taking eternity to send a file like that!

My husband had the Alcatel Go Flip after losing a flip phone he had for years and it was an atrocious experience. This thing was incredibly buggy. When he would text, for example, a lot of times it would randomly delete his entire message before he was able to send it. There were many times where when I called him and my calls wouldn't even go through. It became impossible to reach him. Once he got a new phone, he never had an issue. Definitely not worth the time or money.

I just want a phone that works as a phone,.. period. Apparently that's a lot to ask for. I don't need a camera (I have a real camera for that). I don't need to be on the Internet... I have a laptop for that. I just want a phone that can RELIABLY make phone calls. I can still remember when no one ever heard of dropped calls. What is the best actual phone that makes phone calls?

The only problem is I mainly use Snapchat. I think it would be a good idea to have a more basic phone for the usual stuff but then have a second device, like a tablet, for my Snapchat and other online things

This video is such BS. The reason I want a non smart phone is because I-m tired of being tracked everywhere I go. The last thing I want is a phone associated with Google! LoL

This is all I want on my phone: Text, calls, email, music. As long as a phone supports a web browser you have access to everything. Those phones are hard to find nowadays.

The problem with modern smartphones these days is the upgrade on features like the camera and software. But what does that have to do with the basic necessities for some?

nokia flip is fine but basically useless when you turn the wifi on because it drains the battery so much. the plastic build is a downside too expensive for the price
