Hmmm. I guess a distro like this would be a nice way to quickly get something attractive on your desktop, at least if your taste were the same as the developer's. And if it eventually gets abandoned, you'd be able to carry on since it's Ubuntu. In a way, this is similar to, but several steps beyond, -ricing- some existing distro (and putting it on r/unixporn, of course). It doesn't excite me, but I would not dismiss it out of hand, either. The effort to work up your own distro spin must take some real work. Cheers.

Yeah thats enough for me. Unsubscribing. I know you don't care. You used to turn out pretty decent vids man but lately all you do is hate on user friendly distros. First it was Xubuntu, then you starting saying Mint should die now its this guys distro. Just stick with arch and your psudo-intellectual nut hugers. You are the the very kind of person who runs people away from Linux. Joe was right about you.

Thanks for taking the time to review Hexagon OS so I can avoid this Distro.
Also, you are the man DT after watching some of your obscure window manager series.
The FVWM upload blow my socks and toes clean off lol. I'm beginning to understand the power of the command line. Maybe 5-10 years time I will have a chance to come close to what you know. Appreciated, even though I'm a Safe Spacer, Noob lol.

DistroTube: HexagonOS (submitted on 2019-03-06) to DistroWatch. That icon has Italy's colors, not Spain's colors. I would say (since the guy is a one man band) lets give him a break (he just got started), and see what he does over the next 6-8 months. I thought that 'synaptic package manager' was supposed to be under system. I would choose anything over a cannon Ubuntu product!

The mountains on that wallpaper is on a level horizon, but we're told there should be an 8-inch drop off every mile squared accurate up to 100 miles.

I think they should get rid of the language choice during installation and market it as an Italian distro.
I think that'd be their selling point here.
Because we really do not need yet another Xubuntu clone just for the sake of having another distro.
So I would defiantly suggest they do just that.

What makes me angry is Linux interfaces that have a dock but leave the top bar blank, just put a centred clock or worse have a redundant taskbar
It would make sense if the top bar was being used by a global menu like macOS or something, but nope, it is just holding the applications menu and system tray

I think it-s a fine effort, the installer and the hexagon software center are nice touches, but the overall attention is clear. None of this is without effort, so people should not be so quickly dismissive. All distros start somewhere. Even Slackware started as barely a step beyond something else.

I feel like a lot of these garage distro developers would be a lot better off just publishing themes for the DE they choose to build around. That all that is really happening here. The only real difference between this and Xubuntu (or any other distro with XFCE) is the icons and colors.

I guess it's a french distro since the country has an hexagon shape and is often called the Hexagon by french themselves + the french optional language, but yet, I could be wrong about its origin
EDIT: Was wrong, Italian distro, you're right sir!
