From a philosophical perspective, open source is not freedom per se, but it's ABOUT freedom. Personal freedom, mostly. The Popper paradox of tolerance is indeed related to the matter because source code is related to power, mostly the same way knowledge is: when you spread the power you are indeed putting up a fair ground. You are indeed contributing to spreading equity in opportunities and communication, and in the tools to achieve success in life. What to do then with all those racist and fascist, or perverts, or criminals, or psychos, whose will be gifted with the spread power of this equity process? well, the answer of the popper paradox is in politics. it's roots are in personal responsibility: the people who is a treat to society will be dealt with society itself and in that context. There are a few very interesting objections to this too... i think that the parallelism with weapons and the regulation in the usa and around the world, is a fair point to the argument that freedom is a huge paradox, and it's really hard to deal with freedom without making compromises to the ethical ideology that drives each one of us...

This one drives me up the wall every time. Not only do the Oh-So-Tolerant tend to declare their views as the world standard, funnily enough tolerance also ends immediately unless you fully chime in on those views. Having the audacity to criticize your employer for providing fully lawful services to fully lawful agencies that serve the country as a whole just dots the i. There should be a national hypocrite register for entitled SJWs so they don't ever need to apply for a job again.
Granted, there might be an inital shortage in the IT department since they've had it to good for too long, for some reason enabling them to arrive at a point of view that leads them to generate hate against their own culture, nation and people, but there are millions of IT workers all over India et. al. happy to take their position without any second thoughts.

Before I even watch this video im gonna say these things. Free Open Source Software is about your rights to do whatever you want with it, -good or evil-. There is no straightforward definition of good and evil its subjective therefore its different for everyone. A great example is Kali Linux. Some people use it for pen testing and some people use it to hurt people. But its free software, and in a free world good and evil are subjective and up to the individual. We all have reasons for the things we do and with freedom comes implied responsiblilty. Free Software creators have no right to judge what's moral or not.

I understand there is a overarching point you want to make about open source being for everyone. But on a micro scale, people who use github are generally for freedom, no DRM, no region locking, and taking software out of the cages of corporations. I.C.E stands for the opposite of that, the DRM of government. Closing borders, restricting access, and putting a lot more than software in cages.

You should have explained how it actually hurts people. Because, obviously, it does.
Of course it's immoral to make people pay you to infringe on their rights. Of course these conglomerates stifle free speech, censor information. Of course they hurt consumers. And that seems immoral to most.

Thx DT, this is just right, open and free source is FREE and OPEN and poeple need to understand this ... it is not free as beer but free to use to anyone ... SJW need to understand how to fight for software and it is not to use it as a weapon to stop poeple but a tool on they PCs to write mails etc ..

By the way, the License is just a modified version of the MIT-License that additionally requires you to not use the software to violate the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Since violating this is a crime in itself (in most countries) this really is just a preventative measure.

OpenSource is a mix between proprietary and free as in freedom software, it's specially good for enterprises since it makes communities work for them for free, therefore best software for communities is free as in freedom or LibreSoftware.
