I've tried my fair share of Linux distro over the past 20 rears or so. I think I've tried sonewhere between 30 and 50 different distro. And not just a quick look at it in a VM, but actually using them as my main OSs. Granted, the majority of them were Debian/Ubuntu based, but I've been using Garuda Gamer edition for the past 6 mobth or, but so far, I'm VERY impressed with its smooth general performance, EXCELLENT gaming performance, user friendlyness, and the absurd amount of open-source application, available. And just the sheer, overall, easy to us it is.

so has linux gaming gotten so serious that there are now dedicated distros for it?
i know valve was trying hard a while back but i had no idea it's gotten this serious. and i know Pop OS touts gaming but i thought it was all talk like many other distros boast to do something that basically any other distro do without bragging about it.

Hi DitroTube, great job keep it going. One quick question : what would you recommend as a distro for a general user that would require a little Python programming, casual gaming (few times per year) and more like internet browsing, documents, etc. The system would be a laptop i7 gen 6, a SSD with 8GB RAM. Thanks in advance

I am not a power user. I'm just a regular guy that prefers Linux. That said I had not heard of fish. Fish is great! Just the little things make it nice to use when you are in terminal. Feels more like an oldskool text editor with command spell check than a basic terminal. Thank you for this video!

these are all KDE skins with some slight modifications, this is not going to convert windows people to come over whatsoever.
The useless bottom app tray with an OS bar at the top, why do they do this?
I've been looking for Linux to give me a chance to come back, I'm not seeing any

I had the same issue you had with the hanging startup a few days ago and just went with Manjaro instead. Kind of worries me that something so game-breaking hasn't been fixed in a year when you not only had a well known content creator but but someone from Garuda in the comments.

In Tibetan Buddhism, the garuda is one of the Four Dignities-animals that represent characteristics of a bodhisattva. The four animals are the dragon representing power, the tiger representing confidence, the snow lion representing fearlessness, and the garuda representing wisdom.

I swear this guy seems like he's never used computers before... A new run of Firefox with extensions installed of course are gonna open those extensions' welcome/help/settings pages just like when you install an extension normally. It's really not weird. It's normal.

Hey DistroTube, thanks for that great review, appreciate it! You got me started on fish lately so it had to be included in this version.. and btw, missing applications can easily be installed via the setup assistant :D
