Building A YouTube Studio On A Rolling Stand (Some New Gear) DistroTube Over the past few weeks, I've purchased some really neat pieces of equipment for the YouTube studio. These purchases include rolling stands, clamps, arms, a shotgun microphone and quick release plates. Put it all together in one package and you have yourself an all-in-one YouTube studio on a single rolling stand. Been thinking about getting a USB HDMI capture card for an EM5 Mk II I picked up. It's mainly used for an iNaturalist addiction. Cell phone cameras are great for insects and plants but a proper camera with interchangeable lenses is a must for macro or birding. Anyway, I think it'd beat the snot out of any webcam I could get for streaming, videoconferencing, and so on. It'd at least be great excuse to learn a little Davinci Resolve and OBS.
I went Arca over Manfro for the few gadgets I have so far, but the Peak Capture Clip I picked up has a plate that works for both. A lot of once-cheap Amazon brands like Neewer have turned pretty reputable and also make dual plates along with clamps, tripod heads and so on. Neewer is actually what I went with for a mini/desktop tripod and it's pretty solid, if a tad lackluster as a ball head with twist lock legs. The camera equipment market is pretty dizzying as a newb.
For audio, because I don't have any other proper equipment like an amp or mixer (nor the background to know what to do even if I did), I'm eyeing Rode. Their Videomicro seems solid, although it was either their Videomic Go or Pro that had some scathing reviews regarding QC/noise and minimal return for increased cost over the micro.
All in the learning experience, I suppose.
Appreciate you sharing your setup!

dt. What is dt? For the blind, it is light. For the hungry, it is bread. For the dead, life. For the sick, it is the cure. For the prisoner, it is freedom. For the loner, it is the companion. For the traveler, it is the way. For me, dt is everything.

Maybe i should make an album now. Call it -Spigots and studs-. XD sorry. Nice that you add new stuff to your studio! I think it sounds pretty good! The room is giving it some echo, but it's nice and clear!

Another great video.
BTW, I run both Debian11 SID and Arch every day on 2 PCs.
I used your Debian11 SID install video.
Have a blessed day!
