Pls consider to create a video comparison about Debian and Ubuntu but oriented only to commands (and bash) - theoretically the commands should be the same due the latter is based on the former. But for example about creating users - it seems is not the same - not sure if either adduser or useradd only exists on Ubuntu but not in Debian
I have an old PC Desktop based on 32 bits. And Sadly Ubuntu does not support 32 bits any more for 20.04 series - so I can use use either Fedora Core or Debian. The latter seems more practical due my experience with Ubuntu. But seems exists some differences.
Thanks for your understanding.

I tried to install Debian 11 with Ventoy, a tool that allows installing directly from the iso file. It kept failing to detect the nonfree firmware even though I used the correct iso. I burned the iso image into a USB stick using the dd command. That worked to install. Debian damaged the GRUB with Mint that was there before. I could not boot up to any OS. I used the boot-repair tool to fix that. Libreoffice on Debian fails to see MS core fonts that I had correctly installed. It fails to read many personal videos. No. I'll stick with Mint.

I don't use Debian as my daily driver desktop, but like a year ago I installed Debian 10 on my laptop and as I don't play anything on it, just use it to work on the go, I don't feel the need to change it.
I put cinnamon on it, and I was really surprise how smooth the install was. Recently I try the installer of 11 on a VM, and I really feeling like I'm going full debian in a not so distant future. I usually use Mint, so, not a radical change anyway.

I honestly really like all -Basic- linux distros, and few specialized ones. The only distros I really hate are the ones that try to do TOO MUCH and package all sorts of nonsense that just make the whole experience feel sloppy. But things like Debian, Arch, Pop OS, Manjaro, these are basic, semi-specialized, and they have their own unique individual reasons for existing. Ubuntu is okay but it veers into -trying to do too much- territory sometimes.

i just switched my second partition from Ubuntu LTS to Debian 11 today and it's fantastic
personally i don't recommend at all to install the default desktops because they will put a lot of bloats on it, just install the bare minimum system and later add the desktop and all the apps you need

I use linux for 7 years as my daily work OS, and to this day I can't understand the need for windows and workspace. Unless I need to quickly jump between games and something that looks like I was working, I don't see the reason why those 2 things exists.

Gnome is from the pits of HELL! Looks like a tablet OS. Not a desktop environment or window manager for an advanced operating system like Linux. Gnome is the desktop you give to your Grandma who doesn't know computers.

I think Debian and the Debian developers deserve a lot of respect. Everyone talks about Linux Mint, Ubuntu, Pop Os, etc but Debian is the soul and lifeblood of all these distros.

The amount of packages is so high because you used live iso. It has ton of languages and games pre-installed for some reason. Install using non-live iso has
