Back when I was doing more gaming content and doing stuff with VR. I tried paying for Streamlabs for some of their premium features. They charged me twice. I could not get in contact with anyone from support. So called my bank and they reversed the charges, then put a block on the merchant. When they couldn't charge me the next month, they changed their merchant name and charged me two months later after the initial charge... Guess what, yep - they still charged me twice. I switched bank cards, and account numbers, and put the last merchant name as a block on the new account as an added measure.
TLDR: Streamlabs has always been shady as hell. I hope they slide into obsecurity.

Hello.I was considering to switch to linux and i like garuda dragonized distro, but i always read how rolling distro is not good for begginers. My question is:Is it really that bad for a begginer to start with rolling distro?I am not really techy but i also understand basics of how to do stuff on linux. To be honest what i feel like when i think about switching to linux is gonna be like for example when you switch phones. You change you ui,but to an extent things still work on kinda same way, just maybe through diffrent method.Am i right?

I think that using the original name next to yours is fair. It suggests users that your program is actually fork. Of course also inform your audience in the description. And for me it's really annoying... Ungoogled Chromium suggests that the project is based on Chromium but it's actually a fork. MATE name on the other hand does not suggest anything. But registering trademark was actually scummy.

One of the most popular open source projects, users across the board not only open source fans, $3k a month in donations... Yeah tell me again how the open source model is economically viable? The e-begging model can't even pay for a single developers salary. Aside from dicking around side projects I can't see myself basing a business on the open source model if it's consumer facing.

It-s open source they can modify and edit the it however they want. Like how Dosbox-x is way better than the original dosbox under gplv2 license. OBS jus mad cuz streamlabs made a better faster ver than theirs and took over their entire audience.

APPLE has shown
it can abuse the courts when it has MORE MONEY than the other guy.
How ever blatant the case it against APPLE, it will use the power of MONEY.
Fight you till you are out of cash.

The name is literally -OPEN- Broadcast software, because it's OPEN source. They make a closed source fork, and still call it Streamlabs -OPEN- Broadcast software, that is just lying at this point.

Man, I always felt that Streamlabs was just bloated OBS, but these revelations just make me extra sad. Definitely gonna drop OBS a fat donation when my next paycheck rolls in.

I already new that -streamlabs obs- was from a different company, and it is different from OBS studio, that is why I always used the original OBS studio for my livestreams.

The fun thing is that even if you ask them what OBS stands for in their name, they can't tell you. They are not trying to advertise the company they stole the name of.
