I use Keepass, I've sent my kdbx file to one cloud service with Authy, key file to another place with Authy as well, but both are clouded myself remembered password is 130bits quality with 32characters long I've also added a 2MB mp3 song into the kdbx file to increase its size to add more random generated crap as locked. I also have it all backed up on a Xtrfy XS1(256 AES) hardware encrypted enterprise ssd drive which is also 256 AES. so ye i feel my passwords and other things are pretty safe for all eternity unless both cloud services are hacked, someone figure out that keyfile belongs to which vault, and crack my 32character password.

New sub here. I used to use keepass a lot on air gapped systems when working. It was nice and would work on any flavor of OS I had. Login automation is fine but I also want to have custom forms to enter other privacy data that I want at my fingertips. I have used mSecure on my mobile device for that for years. I could look up passport, vehicle ViN, License plates etc. also I don-t want to rely on our horrible country internet for access to a cloud. So I need login credentials with me at our country home. Why a retired network engineer has terrible internet is another story altogether. Haha

Good overview. I use keepassXc on Apple osx and Fedora Linux. On my iPhone I use keepass touch you can use it for free with ads or buy it for 1 or $2 don-t remember. KeepassXc has good support from their git page and even respond on tweets. And I contacted the seller of the keepass touch app true the App Store. Bin using this combination for over a year without issues. I always create new entries on my computer and when I feel like it I transfer it via my computer to my phone.

Even if you don't trust the cloud entity, in KeePassXC you can create a DB that is locked by a key file in addition to a password. That way you can upload the DB file to any cloud, and without the key file it should be safe anywhere. The key file would have to be delivered to places where you expect to access the DB by some other means (e. g. USB cable, flash drive, scp.

I use both:
Bitwarden (with 2FA) - For those things where convenience is more desirable
KeePass (with self hosted cloud + a keyfile which is only stored on the devices where I need it) - For when I need complete control of the whole chain
Recently I've looked into NitroKey and am considering to use that as well

I use Keepass database & KeepassDX on android. I also use Bitwarden as a backup.
I try to updated Bitwarden everytime I create or make edits in Keepass.
I moved to DX on Android just because of 2FA.
And I am loving it. No need to use 3rd party app for for 2FA.

Can't you use both? Keepass for passwords you don't want to trust to a cloud, and Bitwarden for accounts you need ease of access too. I think that's what I'll go for, get a little bit of best of both worlds. Pluss that helps with the eggs and baskets problem a bit.

I-ve used KeePass Touch for years now and I am looking for solutions for friends and family. I just stumbled upon a Bitwarden link and did some research and tried it out. I think Bitwarden is the way to go going forward for me and recommendations to others.

Keepass is great but phone apps sucks, now if I have to pay securebox money to get convenient features, why not use the lastpass lol. So, Bitwarden it is for general purposes.
For special and security, I use keep-pass desktop only

I-m finding Bitwarden to be clunky and irritating- sync is not working, I keep changing and updating passwords and then the password that bitwarden puts in is wrong-. onepass is paid but is way more streamlined.
