The MOST PRIVATE Music Streaming Options in 2022 - Techlore
video description
The problem with you kids today is that you treat music like -Pick 'n' Mix sweeties- - very few modern artists actually succeed in making completely engaging albums these days so all you kids want to do is hear the two good tracks on each album and avoid the filler tracks.
The solution is very simple - listen to good music and pick albums from a few decades ago that can engage you for 40 minutes whilst you give them your full attention, as opposed to picking that -modern plastic crap- that is only there for background noise whilst you're doing something else.
There, fixed that for you. You're welcome. You can thank me later.

I just don't understand the relevance of this video. I listen to all kinds of music online everyday for free without any tracking or other privacy concerns. I don't use any of the programs discussed in the video. For MANY years I've been listening to thousands of Internet radio stations for free and automatically downloading the tracks to my library, where I can then listen to them all I want for free forever. I've been doing this for 15+ years. I occasionally parse my favorite tunes into separate folders such as -Country Classics- or -Baroque-, which is pretty easy since the stations tend to be focused on a particular genre of music. Then I also copy some of these folders to my smartphones. I have more than a million tracks in my library-all freely downloaded. I tried Spotify and Pandora many years ago but dismissed them because they cost me money and didn't allow me to download the tunes for free. StreamWriter is an example of such an Internet Radio program for the Windows OS. Macintosh has similar programs. Consequently, the applications discussed in this video just don't seem to make any sense to me.

This was incredibly helpful! I typically use AppleMusic but have been thinking about switching back to an old iPod. I suspect with the new iPhone offerings coming in the future, I will no longer be upgrading and that CalxyOS Pixel I have will come out of the closet (so to speak.
One question - does Monero work with any of the hardware wallets that are offered? I have a Ledger Nano and I'm pretty sure it doesn't work with that unless I'm missing something.

For me using an API to download music directly from deezer's servers bypassing the app and giving deezer no usage information has done me wonders. From there I just treat all my music as purely local. For any music not on deezer or not available through their servers directly I can download the music elsewhere and add it to my local music app no problem. The metadata being standard it will automatically be sorted properly no matter the source.

Thanx. Got a BIG question.
I hate apple. tell ya why. you pay for music that they take back if you stop your subscription! Give me a break! Especially sucks because I am going to start using a degoogled droid.
Is there a way to transfer your music AWAY from them?
THANX!
Also. isn-t the government breaking into crypto? Is this montero safe from them?
Thanx for your work!

As a Newpipe user I can say it's a pretty good option, One thing missing on the video is that you can even export your -profile- to other phones, that is: playlist, subs, history, etc. The only thing I don't like about it is that in order to listen to music offline you have to download it with no way of listening to it other than your local music player

Also, Apple Music pays almost double what Spotify does per stream. Not as much as Tidal or even close to as much as what an artist would get from a song being bought directly but it's nice to see that Apple Music as a more privacy friendly streaming service also does slightly more for supporting musicians if you decide to use it. Thanks for the video!

I must admit that I had never considered Apple music before, but it does seem like a pretty good option for both privacy, convenience and creator revenue. Of course it doesn't beat buying the music on bandcamp or directly from the creator, but the convenience of streaming can't be ignored. I'm happy that I learned about this!

Could someone explain me in simple terms what data Spotify collects about me? Because I generally don't understand why would I want to hide it in the first place. It's not personal emails, messages or the fact, that I communicated with somebody. It's just my music tastes, my name, date of birth, country and email, right?

Good timing. I was recently trying to get rid of Spotify and use better alternatives but couldn't find anything. In the end I opted for downloading my music and using a better music player for my needs. I still haven't completely got rid of Spotify but I'm slowly getting there.
