Best Mining Pool 2021 (How to Pick!) Reduce Stale Shares! - Sebs FinTech I go through what the best mining pool is and how to pick the one that will suit you the best. We test what the best pool for mining Ethereum is by running a small program by 2miners that tests the ping time to different mining pools (like Hiveon or Flexpool). This is because the lower your ping time to the pool is, the less stale shares you'll get. And since you are getting paid per share, low ping time to you mining pool is important! To start the video I go through how to use the stratum-ping tool by 2miners to test your ping times to mining pools (using Ethermine as an example). We then do our first test with the tool by trying if the length of the ethernet cable to your crypto mining rig has an impact on your ping time. After this I test my ping time to multiple different pools to see what pools have the lowest ping time for me personally. Remember that you want not only a low ping time but you want a consistent ping time when testing what the best mining pool is. For example miningpoolhub had the lowest ping time of all pools we tested, but had inconsistent results where sometimes ping time was 10 times as long as they usually were. However, both 2miners and Flex pool gave me a consistently low ping time leading me to think that for me those two would be the best mining pools for me. We also tried Ether mine which had slightly slower ping times but was also very consistent. Second to last in our test was f2pool which had very consistent ping times but pretty slow. And finally in last place we had Hiveon at about double the ping time of other pools like 2 miners. Now, does that mean Hive on is a bad pool? Not at all, it just means that from my physical location, there are better alternatives

If you are using CAT6 cable then you can have up to 100 meters between each device before you start to have reduced speed. If you have a longer distance than 100m then you can still put a switch or router every 80-90 meters and you will still have most if not all of your full bandwidth. One nice thing about hard drive mining Chia coin with space pool is you can use WiFi because as long as you are connected and synced you will get paid based on your plot size.

For testing the latency of your local network try pinging your router (192.168.1.1 is common). Cable length should not be an issue, hardware and cable quality matter more. Was that an actual HUB or a Switch? There would be latency differences between the two types of devices, how much is situational. In the end, unlikely anything would increase latency to a remote location other than reducing hops in the route between locations.

I have read manual so many times but I am still unable to overclock particular card with command ..

Facts re. lower latency reduces stale shares. I thought it was my OC settings - for months I played with the setting to no avail. Discovered the latency setting in HiveOS, switched to a closer mining pool, and holy shit my rigs have been running at 99.98 for a week now. Now I can chill and stack sats! Thank you!

Hi Sebs, I just did a test in Finland for our set-up in Singapore Flexpool 219ms, Ethermine 62ms and 2Miners 286ms. No wonder we were getting lot higher stable & invalid shares with Flexpool but 2Miners don't share such data. So looks like we have to move back to Ethermine!

Yo seb , my ping on ethermine is around 200 and I get like a lot of stale (but finds 1 share per minute), today , I checked 2miners and its ping was around 70 but it was really slow on finding shares like 2 shares came in around 10 minutes , what's the deal , can you tell ?

Another great Video! I am getting around 35ms with minging pool hub in the UK, does the mining program effect the latency much ? I am keen to try other mining untilitys, but I am stuck with Phoenix Miner because I only have 1 rig and its mixed card types..

Because I am a small miner I like 2 miners raven coin pool. Min payout 10rvn instead of 50 like others pretty much pays out everyday for me . I have only 4gb cards atm and plan on getting a 6 or 8 gb card soon.

So i mine on Binance and i have 150ms but i get very less rejected shares so is there still a problem? If i had less ping will i get more shares? I don't know how it works
