I'm looking into GemrRB (Game Engine Made with preRendered Background) is a new implementation of the original Infinity Engine (The one of Baldur's gate, Icewind Dale, Planescape: Torment,...) to Linux/Unix, MacOS and Windows with some enhancements. It means that you either need some of the original game's data somewhere on your hardisk, or you can try to use the data from the Dragonlance Total Conversion project. The original game data has to be installed on a windows partition and mounted to your Linux/Unix filesystem, installed on windows and then copied to your filesystem, installed with WINE or extracted manually from the CDs using the tool 'unshield'. Supported games: Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale series, Planescape:Torment. My previous experience with WINE has had a lot of Issues except for when I tried and followed your WINE Bottles Video. I've sense then completed a lot of system upgrades and fresh installs Now working with wine 5.0 in /home/samuel/Desktop is being updated Default Settings Windows 7 I've got home work ahead of me! This old DELL PRECISION - M4500 Linux Mint 20.1 Ulyssa Xfce 64-bit Has been hanging in there!

I game A LOT (maybe too much?). I have lots of native suggestions, if I may:
If you love space action, but can deal without a deep story, Strike Suit Zero is fun, and easy to just get in a quick game.
For a ridiculous GTA-like sandbox, go for Saints Row 4 (one of my all-time favorites).
For OG Fallout-style turn-based RPG goodness: Wasteland 2 and Divinity are great.
For one of the best, classic 3D RPGs, try Psychonauts.
For Batman-like action in an open-world with RPG elements: Mad Max and Middle Earth.
Side-scrolling fun: Charlie Murder (has couch-co-op), Mark of the Ninja, The Cave, Oddworld, Dex, Limbo, Waking Mars.
If you liked TellTale-like adventure games, check out Life is Strange.
If you like Diablo, go for Torchlight 2.
Role-playing shooter? Borderlands 2, Borderlands the Pre-Sequel.
Story shooter: Bioshock Infinite.
For quirky RPGs, check out West of Loathing (turn-based) and Bard's Tale (top-down action).
Horror: Amnesia, Layers of Fear, Metro: Last Light, Outlast.
Don't forget the modern classics: Half Life 2, Left4Dead 2, Portal, Portal 2.

Chris, in the category small and simple game you might want to try FTL: Faster Than Light (very popular). Transistor also is a charming little game, both are natively supported in Linux. I haven't played Invisible Inc yet because I am waiting for a lower price, it seems very interesting. And of course Cuphead if you want a nice challinging boss-fight/platforming (in the boss-fights) but that is not native on Linux because it is not in MS its interest to port the game to Linux. Even though MS is the publisher the game is an Indy game and a work of love from a small team. MS just happened to give them a bag of money because other publishers were sleeping.
Swapper, The TalosPrinciple, Mark of the Ninja, Bofderlands2 (this game does give a performance hit because the support for OpenGL is bad) and of course Portal also are fun.

That is why Im sick of these -play on linux!- viedos. All of you, always show gameplayes on some monster PC with 16GB ram 2666+ and some top amd or nvidia graphics, etc. Show me that I can also play on Linux in good quality like now on win10 on older, weaker hardware, beacause now it is possible for me, I agree not on ULTRA or High but I can get stable 30-45 fps on even newer titles on windows and saw many videos where the same games lost huge % of fps just being played on Linux by some of these Wine, Proton etc software...

Is there a dist that plays windowows games like WoW well out of the box? I recently fell in love with ubuntu, wiped windows for it, but over time realized i was getting lag spikes here and there when a lot of action was happening. Also from time to time my realtek wifi adapter would suddenly disconnect or id need to reinstall drivers. Id love nothing more to be able to run linux without these quirks, but for now ive gone back to THE BEAST 666 Win10 and stripped it down to your specifications (thanks for that help).

Hello Chris and community, i have a question for you. Last week i installed Hotline Miami, Terraria, and Super Hexagon. As long as i know this games are supported for Linux so i clicked on Play on Steam but no one of this games have sound, i clicked on the configurarion of sound to HDMI (this happen to The Witcher 2 and it solved) but this is not the case. Anyway... the main theme is; no one of these game have sound on mi computer.
Btw : my distro is Kubuntu

Since this video was posted llng ago, you will probably not see this comment, but Pathfinder Kingmaker is a hell of a good native Linux game, Baldur's Gate style but with modern graphics.
The game mechanics are a bit complex because it is based on Pathfinder Tabletop RPG, but once you understand the basics you can go through the entire storyline without much trouble.

If you have an abundance of free time that you just don't need anymore, I'd recommend Factorio. It's a mix of base management, pseudo-programming, logistics, and defense wrapped up in a top down gameplay with a diesel-punk aesthetic. Linux native and second highest rated on Steam!

WinXX is really just for games now (2020)
As GPUs limit-out at eye-ball speed & resolution, there will no reason to not to Develop for OpenGPL natively.
Any decent Gamer is -technical- enough to handle a few new skills for Linux, imho

I see you have the Sapphire Nitro +, I wanted that card but it will not fit in either the Dan A4-SFX or NCase M1 cases that I have chosen for my PC builds. Due to both cases being small form factor, only reference card's need apply.
