I bought the Alfa AWUS036ACH for my Linux Ubuntu 18.04 laptop. I can't get it to work. It works on my Windows10 laptop no problem. I see it when I enter lsusb in the terminal but that's it. If I go to -software and updates- and look at drivers tab it says the realtek device isn't working... Try and find a solution on Google and i'm having no luck. It even came with an install CD but I have no clue how to install and configure a .tar file. I'm kinda new to Linux but have been using it daily for several months. My weakness is installing programs using the terminal. HELP!

My ASUS WIFI wireless card started to give me connection problems with the newer kernels. I ordered the TP-LINK TL-WN722N card you suggested on Monday from and received it on Thurs. morning. Removed the older ASUS card & Plug & Play with TP-LINK & it started to work immediately with LinuxMint 19.3. No more connection problems. I am an Arch fan going several years & about two years went to LinuxMint which is no hassle & works great for my needs. Your advice saved me since I do a lot of online research work and writing. I am happy. :)

I need help I have a linx 12x64 tablet/keyboard , it's got a Atom processor but these broadcom WiFi chip, even Windows 10 have to install the WiFi driver, can't get any Linux distro to work as cannot get WiFi. Couldn't understand what was going on till looked a bit deeper into it and see that this is a big problem with atom and broadcom , even tried a respun one that's supposed to be for atom processors and even that didn't pick up the WiFi on this, so looks like have to stick with the windows 10 -

Any suggesions will be greatly appreciated. I'm working from home- 65, not able to go out much.. and NEED this to work. With my crappy county system--I need it to work... if it does- I'll get more than one in case..

I've bought the 2nd wireless adapter that you recommended (the tp link tl-wn722n -v.3) and although it works in wifi in Ubuntu it doesn't work in monitor mode -even when I successfully upgraded to the latest LTS kernel. The only success I've had is to run a live DVD of Kali linux where I successfully got it to work in monitor mode in Kali's failsafe mode boot.
Do you have any ideas?

I have an Alpha ACH... as per your video. It used to work exceptionally well on Mint. Now as I return to Linux I find it won't work on either Mint, or Manjaro. I have spent hours trying to get the OS to even see that it is there :(
I will say it is a superb device, very fast, on windows.
So I came here looking for an alternative LOL. As always great video. Cheers

Hi, the laptop that I am installing Linux in it, is a Toshiba satellite 2410 (already 19 year old). Of course, the USB ports on this laptop are USB V1.1. I am wondering if the PANDA PAU05 wireless USB adaptor would work with such an old USB port. Your advice is welcome. I'm just learning as you can see. Thank you. Jean

I have just purchased a Ubit PCI-E Wireless WiFi card and yipeeeeeeeeeeeee, I can now install Debian 10. Debian found it instantly. I also have a Lenovo E570 ThinkPad and Debian again installed flawlessly. Lenovo is the ultimate Linux friendly company.
