Eventhough alot of people moan about Rift S, it would be the best options for people who want to get a PCVR at this stage or moving from something more inferior than the 1st gen Rift/Vive e. g. PSVR/GearVR (like myself) as Rift/Vive are outdated now and Vive pro is ridiculously OP especially with outdated -dildo- controllers. Insideout tracking might be a bit inferior to constellation tracking but that's where VR is heading, I am still glad that I didn't get Rift/Vive. the only thing that would make me skip Rift S/Vive Cosmos is if Valve announce their own HMD with their upcoming knuckle controllers

I'm so disappointed in Oculus and this product. They were the best of the best even 3 years later when you combine the amazing touch controllers, the comfort of the rift with built in headphones, and ability to do full roomscale tracking with 3 sensors. They traded all that out for a trash Windows Mixed Reality headset with their logo on it, and downgrading most the specs. This headset looks to be a waste, I was going to get a Oculus Quest, but after this Oculus S I'm leaning towards the new Vive Cosmos which appears to be what most of us wanted in the next Rift, and it has touch like controllers.

I think 80hz is fine. I love my oculus rift, it-s comfort (with the VRcovers. com cover) is the gold standard in my opinion. I tried the halo set up when I bought the Samsung odyssey +, and it sucked so badly that I returned it. I hope they figure out how to make it comfortable, and not so wobbly. I go HAM in VR with games like blade and sorcery, and I feel like this won-t be up to snuff for use like that. Losing the ear pieces is annoying too. Honestly I might just go to a vive product later or maybe pimax. They seem to be doing much cooler stuff.

Vive has full body tracking support, which has spawned all kinds of new possibilities. Hell, there are even youtubers like NoLogicDavid and Yumi55 who do VR dancing in VRChat. Meanwhile, Oculus is downgrading the screen and using inside-out tracking.
People who want full body tracking will likely never switch to Rift. And those, like myself, who own a Rift, may very well switch to Vive due to this.

I d'ont understand this sensor system. how is it possible to capture the oculus touch if they are placed behind the head?
For example in pavlov how can we catch our weapon in our back?
If I throw an object starting my movement far back, then part of the innertie is not calculated?

They can help the tracking by MAKING THE NEW TOUCH CONTROLERS COMPATIBLE WITH EXISTING SENSORS! Yes they added insight to remove the sensors, but then youre losing out on what made physical sensors good, the ability to do stuff behind you/above you(for the quest)

No one should bash the Oculus S because the Oculus S is NOT for those who already have the Oculus Rift. The Oculus S is an upgrade for those who own a Windows Mixed Reality Headset and want to move on to a better VR headset.

The only way I would buy this headset over the original oculus rift is if the controllers are cross compatible cause tbh the original oculus rift controllers are like the best VR controllers out there right now

Because of all of the cameras in the Oculus s that is a massive improvement compared to the Windows Mixed Reality Headset because the Windows Mixed Reality Headset only has two cameras in the front.
