i really wanted a lenova 2 in one but hate bloat ware and after awning a and still owning since 2016 a lenova yoga tab pro 3 i cant see myself buying a lenova again. problem is in 2 years from new the yoga tab 2 has apps like pokimon go that dont even load on it now. Im so anoyed with this lack of suport for a relitavly expensive tablet that i will think twice before bying android tablets again. when i spend 300-500 pounds uk i expect that tablet to last double the 2 years the yoga tab pro has for software suport. lenova should be ashamed. Sad thing is its a great tablet for media and a built in projector even if i had to wait a year to get netflix downloadfs suported on the tablet.

My favorite cheap laptop, the HP Elitebook 8460p (i5-2520M, 8 GB) from Dec 2011. I bought it in 2017 for -$200. It is easily extendable, directly I replaced the 320GB HDD with a 1 TB SSHD and despite the bad reviews I love my SSHD running on ZFS with Ubuntu 19. 10. I still have 1 - 2 hours battery life: )
As a gaming laptop I like my wife's HP Elitebook 8540p from Apr 2011 (i5-520M, 4 GB. The 15- screen is 1080p and supported by a Quadro NVS 5100M with 48 Cuda cores: ) It runs Ubuntu 20. 04 LTS on ZFS. It has been a present from her son. The battery life is 0 hours.

Gordon hope you're not getting sick. drink some colloidal silver if you are, silver kills viruses and they sell it even as mouth spray at health food stores. you can also make it yourself easy.
Worse thing it will do to you is turn your skin blue in extreme amounts. that means an asian would turn green: )

My Dell XPS 15Z battery died. No power. Tried 2 replacement batteries, still not charging. Maybe motherboard problem. I guess I should buy a new 14- or 15- laptop with upgradable capability. Price range $500 - $700. Any suggestions?

-PCWorld Thanks for the stream! I would also add that for people who search for affordable convertibles Lenovo Yogas might be a good option. They have really good keyboards and wide range of CPUs to choose from.

There are no excuse for soldered ram sticks unless the ram chip is soldered right in the motherboard. So there are no excuse to an xps do this. I won't EVER buy something designed to f-ck me on proposal.

For people who are only looking to do office work and watch Netflix, browse the web, etc, the most important spec is RAM - 8gb being bare minimum at this point.
