Pre-Order is a SCAM many stores & business are cashing on it. Just think about if a 1000 people pre-order a $1500 card that's 1. 5mil in the bank for the business & they don't even have to order the video cards as yet. You may ask your self why, well once your business has a large purchase order they can request for a better deal from the supplier. The more you order from the supplier the bigger percentage discount they will receive. -
Secondly now with this big cash injection they can also invest it in short term profit stocks with good interest return, they will keep doing this over & over till A they are able to order available stock with a decent discount our volume or B after 3 month if not available or not favorable to the business they can refund customers their money back. Either way for the business it's a win win for the customer on the other hand was an annoyance but they walk away happy because they got their money back, if only they realized they made money from you & didn't give you the cut from the interest earned. You might as well walk into a bank give them your $1500 term deposit wait 3 month collect your $1500 plus interest. -
Always wait till the store has stock then order, check & confirm consignment note the next day when it gets dispatched happy days, never pre-order.

The question that wasnt asked in this video is if we should go for FE or third party cards such as MSI, ASUS, Zotac etc. The third party cards are about 300 USD more than the FE where i live (Norway) but their been tweeked with to optimize cooling ect, cuz there has been problems with cooling on the previous FE cards. So here it comes. Do YOU think that the new cooling technology will be as good as the triple fan cards from other sellers? Should we finally go for the FE instead?

I'm really curious if the direct storage api will be way faster with a gpu that has more VRAM. In the meantime I am considering picking up a used 2080ti (under $500) or a 3070 as a placeholder for that new technology to be released. My 1080ti is simply not powerful enough for my CRG9 monitor in most AAA games. I thought a $1200 2080ti was too much but that isn't the case anymore

The main thing I see as relevant is the 24gb of Vram in the 3090, for distant loading, especially in 4k.
My Ventus 2080 has 14gbps speeds apparently, runs everything very well, this won't be a preorder for me, maybe one day, but this card is really more of stand at the door a month for an I-phone kind of thing.

Really excited about the 3080 but worried about the vram and also if there will be card that performs between the 3080 and 3090. 3090 seems overkill but dont know how good the 3080 will be for 4k long term especially now when there is a new gen coming and demands will be higher.

I have always been an AMD fan but they have lost me on these 5700XT cards. The performance is great. when it isn't causing my pc to restart randomly. Still with AMD on their processors but they have lost me on the GPU front. Hopefully I will be able to get my hands on a 3080

How do you expect to have any credibility if you didn-t do any due diligence that there is no pre order. They are going the route of exclusive sneakers and launching it and it-s gonna sell out immediately. Better have a good internet connection.

There are no pre-orders, and that's unlikely to change given current circumstances. Either way, I'd rather wait for real test data to come out, before committing to anything specific. Like they say, fools rush in.

Brad here! IF preorders become available that is. I said that in my article but spaced saying it out loud here. But if there aren't any preorders, that could mean these are in relatively short supply.
