Why would you use games that AMD does not support well but then rule games out that Nvidia does not support well? When you consider that AMD -CAN'T- optimize for RTX and Nvidia can optimize for DXR. I know you're not biased based on brands, but saying you won't use game X because Nvidia doesn't support it is like saying I won't use game Y in my testing because AMD does not support it correctly or have a DLSS solution yet. See how silly that sounds? As a two gen in a row full AMD home systrem user, I'll be the first to admit that, _right now, _ if I were buying a high-end GPU (I would be in the market if things were in stock at or around MSRP) I would prefer Nvidia because of the feature set. Just make sure not to lean too far one way or another when testing as it is objective data.
Lastly, I am very worried that companies at every level of the chain will see these scalped prices and raise them yet again, and I''m already having a hard time adjusting to the $400+ midrange GPU/CPU (I consider 8/16 midrange at this point.

In the course of the last several months, I've put a lot of PC's together for children of friends. I've also set up in my front lawn and helped several kids put together their first PC's or helped trouble-shoot systems that a kid put initiative into researching and assembling themselves. My own children (9 and 5 years old) put together builds. All up and down the price ladder from $350-$2000 from micro-atx to open loop water cooled, it's great to see so many young people getting into it. I hate that scalpers who in large part don't have a clue about PC's are being jerks and putting a big hurdle in front of everyone trying to get on with work and play in these strange times. It does make me happy seeing their listings stagnate on Craigslist and FB marketplace though. Supply is catching up, and I hope many scalpers will be out a lot of cash.

Freesync doesn't require a module.
It would be better to get a Freesync monitor that is G-SYNC compatible.
Also, Freesync works on G-SYNC monitors as well. All nVIDIA had to do was open up the driver, which they did. Any G-SYNC display will run Freesync now. Most new Freensync monitors will run G-SYNC. Though, there are many different monitors, GPU's, ect. Also, the Freesync framerate windows in some older panels are limited so it just comes down to the panel. All new Freesync/G-SYNC compatible montors are the way to go. I actually have a 2016 27inch 90Hz Freesync DELL IPS panel and G-SYNC works just fine. So, Pure G-SYNC panels with the module are definitely different but, an nVIDIA GPU will work fine on a Freesync panel.

Brad's pricing arguments for the 3900xt makes no sense. Ray Tracing still doesn't matter. You only have very few games supporting it. And even the games that do support it only support one or two aspects of RT. This should be about the brut force of the cards without any of those software additions since we all know that AMD will come out with software equivalents. Rasterized gaming should be given much more weight in reviews. Also, SAM results seem to be minimized by Brad and yet DLSS isn't. Why is that? Same goes with overclocking. If a review is about overall value, then you should include overclocking capabilities as well.

People never had issue with ray tracing, they have issue with FPS and monitor hgz and Wana play games at high refresh rates with highest setting with ray tracing on blue that aren't currently so big. A 3070 from a actual big retailer I. At Mon 550 that's enjoyed in UK and that's 100 pounds more than the already alot 450 pounds UK RRP. And 750 and higher for a 3080. Pricing I. UK is too high and has been for years because of retailers like enjoyed, because of scalpers because of numbers and because Nvidia still in reality doesn't have competition. But hey releasing a ray tracing card without any games is also Gona per people off.

ebuyer in uk selling rtx 3070s for 550 pounds uk min so about 580-600 dollars u, thats simply not acceptable. and these arent even the manufacoter oced heavily with extra fan varieties. what happened to the 449 rrp in uk pounds nvidia stated. looks like another year before cyber punk for me, looking like a xbox series x could be a much cheaper alternative next year. does this mean ebay i scalping with their own orders? or are they taking advantage of the coronavirus lockdown and chargeing more because of demand?

1500 for a gfx card is not ok, I think you guys are falling for exactly what Nvidia's aiming for.
Raytracing is still in its infancy and pretending that its a point of consideration is misleading, and will be misleading for the masses.
If you are trying to buy to play raytraced games, you're better off waiting for 2 more gens. As you will find that you will probably have to turn it off to play the game in any meaningful fps experience

Great idea Gordon, people who cant get a console right now coz of availability should look at PC gaming,
Yeeeaahh? coz PC parts are everywhere, the availability is great. -seriously Gordon-.
i'm not just having a dig at Gordon, actually he's my favorite along with Alaina.
But i dont watch live coz i would have to listern to that Adam guy,
and i just cant, life is way too sort, i have to skip past him. Way to irrataiting.

Freesync doesnt use a module i dont think. Its part of the vesa adaptive sync standard thats build into a monitor. A monitor company could easily make both work by having a port or two that dont use the gsync module.
But it wouldnt be smart to buy that type of monitor gor freesync and AMD anyway, because youre paying morefor thd gsync module and certification you wont be using.

AMD could have charged much less with all the cost saving measures employed on these cards. Reg GDDR6, 256bit Bus, more affordable power delivery. They just are not doing themselves any favors. The 23% avg markup on the 6800XT IS REDICULOUS, if that translates to the 6900XT IT will be $1230. They are taking advantage of the situation in the world for sure using AIB's for cover.
