Intel's 11th-gen Rocket Lake Core i9-11900K is here. In this video Gordon compares it to 10th-gen Comet Lake Core i9-10900K and AMD's Zen 3-based Ryzen 9 5900X in everything from 3D rendering

I agree with brad, 11900k should be compared to 5800x and 11700k, it is substantially cheaper in some places and available with about the same performance. All are available here, and about $100-200 cheaper for both 5800x and 11700k. The i9 tax is way too high. Maybe i7ks/xt.
So intel narrative is we have 8 cores in i9 now, but we are almost as fast as our older 10 core, slightly faster than our cheaper i7 as well. And we have -RTX/5Gmmwave- (dl boost avx512) now for some nicheness. I remember PC World being very hopeful for Rocket Lake, suspect it would take back the crown from Ryzen. Guess not, wait for Alder then, or Ryzen 6xx0.
Was waiting to see uhd750, then i realise it's 32eu. A third of iris xe 1185g7. Is that good?

The problem of 11th gen now as a consumer point of view is the price range. For example, the 11600k is good enough to fight 5600x and at the same time cheaper, also even though the 10th gen 10600k gets cheaper, the price performance doesn't match to what 11600k offers, especially b560 motherboards offers PCIE 4 + Ram over lock. On the other hand the i7 11700k is not that interesting as the price equivalent of 10th gen is 10850k/10900 non-k, which in many ways better or equal to the 11700k. This makes the i9 out of place as the price just doesn't make sense. They should just bame the i9 to something i7 11750k with additional 50-70 USD, then the whole situation won't be this bad.

This is the first video review I am ever going to watch about Rocket Lake -. The first -written- one I've read was Dr. Ian Cutress's, as referenced by Gordon here (i. e. the -booboo-.
I am taking Gordon's review as the definitive one (no offense to everyone else) because (A) the drivers / BIOS / microcode on this one are more -final- than the early retail sample Ian got, and (B) I love PC World and The Full Nerd. - Alright, will press play now. UPDATE: Gordon was hilarious! -

My prediction has been that Rocket Lake will beat out Zen 3 in gaming in almost all scenarios apart from heavily multi-thread optimised games where the 5950X will beat out the 11900K. just 10 mins into the video so will see how that turns out. Really think the Ian Cutress -review- was totally disingenuous with a BIOS 1 month before the chip was even released, and trying to pass off 290W AVX-512 consumption as comparable to other chips that only have AVX-2 etc.

Overall Rocket Lake is the worst chip Intel has introduced in a very long time. And once you compare based on price it's even worse both against tenth gen Intel chip and AMD's latest Ryzen chip. No one should buy this chip as both Gamers Nexus and Hardware Unboxed have clearly stated in their reviews, and they are not the only ones. I have no idea why Gordon is bending over backwards trying to come up with a reason to buy this terrible chip.

I love the -Let me write a check- statement. Every once in a blue moon I'll get told, -You need a check in order to pay for these items. - And I'm utterly confused and shocked! At one time it was all about that paper with a signature. Now it's all about that new smart chip, on your bank card, that you can insert into a slot and pay for your items.

You guys are looking like sell-outs. Faster? Faster than what, a potato? Where is the transparency in your title for this new piece of hardware that is a waste of our hard earned $? You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. Slowly losing trust with your community. After so many years of existence I want to know. Why are you selling out?

It's a freaking 8 core CPU, trying to justify the i9 by complaining how the 12 core R9 is out of stock makes no sense.
If you want to make an argument for intel, compare the i7 11700k to the 5800x. They're very similar, and the i7 has a price advantage.
Trying to justify the i9 is a bad take.

We build Luxriot NVR/DVR boxes for security cameras and all we use is iGPU capable CPUs from Intel, we are using dozens of 5MP streams encoding all at once. The iGPU has been great for years. But If software can utilize the Tensor cores of a GPU and NVENC then your screaming.

This is the best Rocket Lake review. Very honest and with real world comparisons, showing that Intel Rocket Lake, as the title says, is faster but no ryzen killer. Is a good CPU but not exceptional given the competition. Other reviewers are just saying things that are not fair.
