With the recent launch of AMD's Radeon RX 6500 XT, the age old debate of Is X amount VRAM good enough? has popped up yet again. In this video Keith uses a Zotac Gaming GeForce GTX 1650 Super Twin Fan to see if 4GBs of VRAM is enough in some of the biggest games of the last year

3-4GB gpus have their time & place in gaming. There is also dependant on peoples budgets, gaming titles played, expectations and what quality settings you-re happy to live with. I do think that these tier of gpus will date quickly, especially considering recent AAA title requirements. Some recent titles using 4GB on the low/lowest settings. Also with the whole 6500XT debate-. the PCI-E 4x interface is hindering performance in many titles from minor to extreme!

well for RX 6500XT the 4GB will have to due as dual side the new GDDR6 18Gbps to have 8GB
would be costly and only other way to get 8GB is using HBM2e and that would open the door for
8x PCIe lane but with 8GB 1024 bit bus with 409GB/s bandwidth would make it good for Mining.

I got into PC building pretty much exactly 20 years ago, and at the time it was was between 64 MB and 128 MB. As it turned out, in about two years 128MB went from complete overkill to woefully inadequate. Things were changing so much faster at the time.

i use Razor Cortex for boosting my game performance on my office PC which had an MSi Nvidia GT 630 4GB GPU. I have many games that run great. I mainly play older titles on that PC. I have another gaming PC in the man cave I use for AAA games

6gb is the absolute bare minimum.
8gb is ok but will struggle sooner than latter even at 1080p
10-12gb is ideal for 1080p/1440p ultra details for the next 5 years. Especially with newer games ultra HD texture settings eating vram.

All 4GB GPU s are not the same. The bus width and the pcie lanes also play a big role.
The 6500XT is what reignited this debate but it falls so far short I would not even consider it a true 4GB GPU.

The elephant in the room for the 6500x is the x4 interface. The GPU you are using has the full x16.
One of the big shames about the 6500x is that it is worse than old 4GB cards like this.

any tests on esports games? Brad always said, this card is for kids that want a fortnite machine and has been waiting for 2+ years for prices to come down

4GB is fine if you're on a tight budget. Just don't expect to play AAA titles on high settings with 1080p+. It's great for competitive games, though.

I bought one, i dont have it yet, but i also dont need a 8gb one cause i play not that much and only older games (also my monitor is 1080p and 60hz.
