I didnt really think about 14gen being only 10c p-core sku, now I am actually starting to look for the mobos just in case. I mean when I ran with 12700k/12900k/13900kf I could disable the e cores and restricted it to 120w the p-cores would still bost to the max allowed frequency. for the 13900kf it was the 5.5ghz mark and when I enabled the e-cores the p-cores would drop to 3.2-3.4ghz, and when the powerlimit was removed with the e-cores on I would see a power draw of 180w when the p-cores were at 5.5ghz. So with two more p-cores and with a power draw of 160-180w is not too shabby. And the max power draw was when the game was loading in, not when playing. so yeah... gimme an deca p-core sku now, please intel :)

Remember Raptor Lake wasn't even supposed to exist and was put on the roadmap due to MTL delays. Unfortunately this would lean towards a Raptor Lake refresh rather than anything special so I'd bet Raptor Lake across the entire stack with higher clocks.
AMD also likely doesn't have anything desktop coming until 2h24 so it's not like Intel has anything to be concerned with.

Intel just cancelled Meteor Lake-s for Desktop so we won't be seeing the real 14th gen on PC any time soon best guess is that they are having terrible yields again and they can't supply both the Desktop and Laptop demand at the same time man Intel has been rolling down this hill for the past several years now and they have still been unable to get up and start climbing again.

when you realize cpus are mostly comprised of transisters.... hence why when you shrink nodes you get a faster processor. those transister counts are still there but in a smaller area so electricity can trigger them faster. simple logic and why amd is still behind by a large margin. they have the node size advantage but still cant keep up.

It occurred to me since they're moving to tiles but MTL is rumored to have no desktop variant, we might get an RPL/meteor lake hybrid where they pile on a ton of MTL efficiency cores and optimized RPL big cores.
I don't care about socket longevity as once I marry a CPU to a board they stay together when I sell them or hand them down.

Wasn't there some sort of on the chip Digital Linear Voltage Regulator (DVLR) that they couldn't get working in time for the scheduled release of 13thGen Raptor Lake? Maybe they got that working with other improvements to get higher performance with the DVLR now figured out while still using the same architecture ???

There's this letter called X which Intel hasn't used for a while in CPU's as a sufix. There's also that word starting with X and ending in eon which could maybe, probably fit in a lga1700 socket. I could see Intel using 790 as a platform for workstations even if they don't have that much PCIe lanes.

I have stated 13th run end press to supply 900KS from 900K sort and look it up and attribute it to me most of tech tube knows subject 14th sort today on Good Old Gamer and that is the same data many of u have not attributing the source by denying the world greater coverage of that data. mb

I think we are seeing why AM5 was so overbuilt. AMD might have guessed this was Intels strategy and they would have to match. I hope it's a good refresh to move AMD even more agressive. The single thread is going to be a head turner for some workloads.

RaptorLake Refresh will bring properly overclocked 13900k performance to even the most novice users. Meanwhile, overclockers will be running 6.2+p/5.0+e/5.2+ring 10000+ DDR5 or 4400+ DDR4. Hopefully, all with a sprinkle of extra cache for fun!

I would prefer a die shrink of 13th gen Raptor Lake-S, with maybe a small bump is clock speeds with less E-Cores and more P-Cores. I'm curious what AMD will do once Intel releases what they release later this year.

I'll probably stay on the z590 with the i7 11700k until I have a more powerful graphics card (I have an rx 6700xt), But it's great that Intel has such potential with the 14th gen
