we will dive deep into the concept of Difference blend mode and how it can help us to remove unwanted color casts by figuring out the right areas for sampling Bobby: I am a big time follower of Dinesh/Piximperfect and share links to his approaches on a number of forums. However, this one got me stumped. I cannot get it to work on a number of images - shot in the same location. Are there cases where this will not work? The setting was a wedding/banquet hall with red ceiling lights casting a red color across all images. I did use a flash pointed at the ceiling to reduce the impact of the red glow. I created the 50% gray layers using all three methods (in case I was messing up one, used the difference blending mode and the threshold layer correctly identifies the most gray area, but applying those areas using the middle brush in the curves adjustment layer makes the whole pic go MORE RED. Any ideas?

I am not good at photoshop so presumably I just don't understand but surely sampling a grey point from a photo that is already not the correct colour will not give a true result.
I copied an image and altered the colour balance on one of them then used this technique on both copies to see if I ended up with the same result which I didn't.

Love your tutorials.
I have an issue, i used the same technique in Photoshop 2021 and got very unexpected results. The whole image got red.
When i did the same thing in ps cs 2019, it was ok.
What is the issue?
Kindly guide
Thanking you in anticipation.

Great tip, Unmesh! Question: if you're selecting a 50% gray value off the UNCORRECTED image how does photoshop know that it contains too much green, for instance, since you are assuming the midtone gray is correct in that one spot in the image?

When I need Photoshop help, I search for and click on Piximperfect videos before all others. Every video guarantees a solution and WHY it works, with a range of applications. Thank you so much, Unmesh, for going above and beyond.
