we will understand Color Balance by using simple Curves. Learn how to take control of color and shape it the way you desire, utilizing this amazing power tool for color grading. First off, we will understand what is color balance and different ways of applying the same. Both through adjustments and adjustment layers. Then, we will introduce ourselves to the panel. Next, we will compare it with Curves and show you how it works and how similar both of them are. In the end, we will learn when to use what and which situations demand color balance

OMG you explain everything so simply that it actually makes learning Photoshop fun. I always was a bit afraid of using Photoshop and only used Lightroom and Corel Photo Paint for some things, but watching your videos I have been using Photoshop more often and been using Frequency Separation, different masks and brushes on my own, after learning the process with your videos. You should be called the Photoshop Ambassador Visionary Explorer. Like always, great video and excellent explanation of Similarities and Differences of Color Balance and Curves.

If you used curves, instead of color balance, with the blend mode set to color, would that effectively do the same thing as preserve luminosity in the color balance function, without having to change the RGB luminance values to counter what is introduced by curves in the normal blend mode? If not, why would it be different?

In Camera Raw yellow-blue balance does not work the same way as in color balance. Check on vectorscope! In Camera Raw, color marking is inaccurate! There is no yellow-blue balance! Mostly teal-orange balance. Kelvin balance mostly teal-orange balance.

I have been using Photoshop since CS2 days. I have done the Classroom in a Book tuts. I have formed my own maverick techniques and skill sets over those years. And this guy made me realise I know nothing really.

This was kind of surprising, but also kind of cool. I think I'll stick with Color Balance just because it's easy to think about, but it's interesting that it's basically a subset of the Curves feature.

The most valuable thing past 20-30 yrs is time. While you tell interesting things you take too much time for repeating same unnecessary info several times. It is stored video. Anyone can replay it.

I probably know roughly. 01% of Photoshop, but I know this. Hardly a revelation. Is there a way, keyboard press, to balance Shadows, Mids and Highlights together? To tone the image, for example. ?

Could you please make a video on how to use color balance on a gif in photoshop or after effects in order to make the gif change colors throughout the gif? I would really appreciate it, thank you

Your explanation is good but why are you squeezing your face so much. If you like acting why don't you try in movies.
reply

There's a difference. Color Balance Shadows Does not raise the lowest pedestal level of the color. Always leave it at 0.

I was having a headache understanding the difference between color balance and curves until coming here. Thank you!
