Nice but there is one big mistake. The sun in the original photo is coming from the right and on the new sky it is coming from the left. It's subtle but instantly screams fake to me, it would have looked much better if flipped horizontally. Also the water in the foreground should mostly reflect what is directly above it and not what is on the horizon, therefore it should be blue and not orange, it would look much more natural.

I missed this last year, somehow. This is a brilliant tutorial! Each section/layer is relatively brief but packed with information. For a beginner, each section is worth as much time as it might take for understanding and practical mastery. I recommend - especially if you're not familiar with these techniques - that the viewer download the sample images and follow along in order to understand. Again, brilliant!

I LOVE your work. BUT, there is a HUGE mistake here. If you look at the direction of light in the clouds, you will see it's source is from the left side, as if the sun is shining on them from the left side of the picture. Now, when you look at where the light is coming from to give the lighthouse its shine, it is coming from the right side. these don't match. I'm surprised you didn't catch this.

I really learn a lot from watching you work and your explanations are very useful. On this composition, I have a question. the original water reflected the sky which was totally different than the clouds background that was added. Shouldn't the brightness of the clouds be reflected proportionally into the water in the foreground? Just asking.

Tiny mistake there - sunlight from the sunset in the original picture is coming from the right, but it's the opposite with the background picture of clouds - compare the Highlight reflection in the Lighthouse with the one in the clouds above. Pretty good result overall!

I don't get why you would let some highlights on the side of lighthouses. while it contradicts the sun position in the sky you composited -_-
Even while the clouds reflection could be involved, it's kinda weird.
Very well explained workflow otherwise, as always!

Usually I love your tutorials, This doesn't really work. The examples you have chosen are very specific and the process doesn't work at all for anything other than bright images. I mean i dont know if it really works for bright images either. Total waste of time.

Unmesh excellent video. Question. Why did you choose to isolate the water shine using the lower layer instead of the 'this layer'? The resulting layer appears to include the dark of the 'this' layer when I thought you would have only wanted the shine.

Technically you are excellent and we thank you. In the introduction you speak very fast and for those who do not speak English every day it is difficult. Pleasant presentation is also important and helps to understand. Thanks for all.

You don't need to take a break to reset your mind - you can just flip it horizontally, that'll do the same. After a while you can flip back. If there's writing in your photo. triple check you end up with the right orientation.

Thank you very much. To be honest, it is difficult but very helpful tutorial. The picture is changed dramatically nice. The skills you use in the tutorial are also useful for me to use photoshop.

What's the trick when you have branches and leaves in your image? The multiply strategy produces extremely unrealistic images wherever a branch, twig or leave is against the sky.

When I download the image is it saying it is 'avw' not jpeg or raw so it will not open in photoshop - how can I access this file in a format that will open in the ps?

Thx Unmesh, an excellent tutorial with indepth techniques very well explained. Also thx for the sample image in order to excercise it myself.

You've stretched the subject too far. You talk so uselessly. You explained a topic that could be explained in 10 minutes in 35 minutes.

Love him saying you need to take a break, come back and realize some mistakes and you can improve your picture. I'm not taking a break LOL
