we will learn two straightforward ways to accurately scan your documents or graphics from a picture, and also have the power of Photoshop to edit them. All you need is a high-resolution camera. Just click a picture of the document or anything you want to scan, doesn't matter whether it is angled or straight, we can easily make it look like it was scanned with a professional scanner by using these two techniques in Photoshop

I just recently ran into a need to scan a 15 x 22 piece of art that couldn't be scanned on a rotary scanner. I was able to do so by scanning on a legal size flat bed scanner, though a letter size flat bed would have sufficed. I scanned it 4 times 600dpi (rotating art 90 degrees after each scan so each scan had some information not in the other scans, then cropping/rotating images and using photomerge in photoshop, with amazing results and without the lower resolution, lighting problems and without the distortion resulting from camera lens. A full size scan like this would have cost $80 and required a long drive to one of the few large fine art scanners in my state.

Nice one. This will help with making high quality prints of paintings. Could you take it a few steps further and do a module explaining how to process a RAW file from a high end camera to make large sized prints feasible? I've got the high res file I photo'd with my camera, but navigating photoshop, image size, resampling, save as, etc. is discombobulating.

Since this video involves a photograph of a painting. I have a query. When photographing framed paintings, the shadow of the frame falls into two sides of the painting. How does one correct the same?
If you could give me your mail ID I can send you a few images so you can get a better idea of what I am talking about.

First of all that is a great painting, good wishes to your mom.
I learned Photoshop years ago and left it. Now I am trying my hands again and wish to stick with it for longest possible time. Your tutorials are helping me so much. I feel like a child in nursery learning alphabets from the scratch.

do you have a video on how to get rid of high contrast so the lighting looks even? When doing self portraits outdoors it's difficult to find overcast days where it is not raining or snowing. I need to be braver and go out when the weather is bad.
I love this video WHO KNEW?

When you say scan, please advise if you are referring to an image produced using a flatbed scanner eg A3, and importing into Photoshop from the flatbed. If it applies will be great eg for scanning paintings done to A3 size. I look forward to your reply. Thanks & Regards.

you are really IMPERFECT, where is the scanner? whatever you did that was not SCANNING, that is EDITING and CORRECTION. SCANNING something doing with SCANNER, your tutorial is BUSTED. try to LEARN about SCANNING then make a video. BE A GOOD BOY.

PIXimperfect Any suggestion to digitize copious numbers of album pics using camera or phone and Photoshop? fast scanners are very expensive and apps are restrictive in usage. Would appreciate your feedback.

Please, can you explain the reverse work: how to transfer a plain photo into a 3-dimension picture like the painting in the beginning. Thanks for your help.

It would maybe be good to mesure the original and then check the straightened picture and see if the porpotions are right. If not, stretch accordingly.
