I don't use keyboard shortcuts much, find them redundant. A few though I use. When on desktop hold Ctrl and roll mouse wheel to change size of shortcut icons instantly. I also use the Magnifier app in Win 10, set it for full page, and to automatically turn on during startup, then when I want simply hold Ctrl and Alt and roll the mouse wheel. Instant zoom in and out. I may try 'create custom shortcut' that you mentioned. Thanks!

I once was working on a document and I was almost done when it disappeared. I was backing it up on a flash drive as I was doing this. I also lost my back up. I do control + S as I go. I also find that if I could do control and control see every now and then if something happens to the document I can just paste it in another one and continue on Word.

you can also go into windows settings and change your print screen key to open the new snipping tool. Press print screen, drag the mouse to highlight exactly what you want to take a screenshot of, as soon as you release the mouse it will be copied to your clipboard. I use this all the time once I found out.

Am I the only WIn10Pro user for whom Win + Shift + S doesn't bring up the Snipping select indicator ( plus icon )? TechGumbo's videos are punchy and informative. Always eureka moments. Hope someone will let me know what I'm doing wrong, shortcut-wise, to launch the Snipping Tool rectangular snip indicator.

windows key + spacebar changes the function of a number of keys (e.g. the # key to /). This is useful to know as the windows key & spacebar are often hit by accident & it can be very frustrating trying to sort the issue - unless you know how! :-)

I'm using Win7. I'd love to be able to do screencasts without an external program. But Win + G brings up my media center. Anyone got ideas? (Maybe Games is accessed inside Media Center? Or I don't have a Games Screen or Screen Recorder option?)

If you want to see your desktop, all you do is move your mouse all the way down to the right hand corner at the bottom, and click the transparent area at the end of the taskbar. No need to let off your mouse and press two buttons.

Instead of the hassle of using ctrl+alt+del to open Task Manager, next time, just use ctrl+shift+esc, and Task Manager will open automatically, without you having to go into security options. Just a little tip.
