I don't know if there is a programmer on this site but hope someone has an answer for me. I have recently installed DuckDuckgogo app on my phone. A company closed some services in the area where my cousin works. I can find the local news article on Google but not on DuckDuckgogo. I tried a few other search engines and nothing comes up. If I type the title of the article EXACTLY as it appears in Google it will come up. Searching by company name, area, etc will not pull up the article ? Can anyone tell me why ? Are these more private search engines not as advanced as Google ??? Thanks everybody !

If you people really cared about your privacy, you'd stay off the internet, get rid of every smart device you have. But you won't, you rather piss and moan about your privacy than give up the convenience of your electronic devices and the internet. But unfortunately it is already ingrained in us that we can't live without these things. And there is only 1 way to stop it. It won't be laws or regulations, it will have to be the consumer. Stop buying the electronic devices and using services that can track you from everywhere and everything you do and say. The choice is yours.

People need to keep in mind that Google is working with the Chinese government to install social obedience credit and censorship any anti-establishment opposition in China. Not to mention the major CEOs publicly declaring their love of global socialism and ultimate centralized government. Google is a social engineering company that wishes to install an authoritarian technocracy. Every time you use Google you promote the subjugation of free people and ultimately the destruction of freedom.

The big problem with these is that they are parasitic: meta-search engines in the vernacular. They use the big names' capabilities, which are paid for by the advertising, and then, in effect, filter out all the adverts. They are, fortunately for themselves, a tiny part of the market. But were a significant proportion of users to switch from (eg) Google then those services would no longer be available and these search engines would cease to function.

I was shocked and angry about this. I had no idea someone was looking over my shoulder, my whole life on here People are just typing in questions that they would never ask another person s, yet, here they are at their computer that the internet is a source of all knowledge, They have no idea that anyone is recording this stuff that they re searching for I am beginning to understand what it might mean to post things about myself on the internet

Outside of the accidental breeches of national sites there is intentional mining of the user's data, location and so forth which is right in front of the user if he cares to notice. What is Cambridge Analytics? This is monetization, pure and simple and explains the no cost of the service. Ah, economics is no respecter of anything but profit, and we must keep this in mind at all times.

I am not tech savvy enough to question any of this except one thing. DuckDuckGo does claim they do not track your searches, HOWEVER, duckduckgo uses 'googles search engine. I have noticed that when I search a topic on both, the results are identical. To me, that means they are tied at the hip with google and are helping them swing the elections.

Do Not Use: Google (DUHH) Yahoo (pretty obvious) aol (they are definitely tracking) duckduckgo (ikr, they log your searches) startpage (for now we're not so sure) Ghostpeek (pretty much data-mining) EDIT: NEVER USE SEARCH ENCRYPT IT'S BASICALLY A CHINESE DATA MINING OPERATION!

I use Duck Duck Go on my cell phone. I used to be able to go to yippy.com from Duck Duck Go to search. Now, Duck Duck Go WILL NOT let me go to that search engine. I type in yippy.com and it refuses to load at all. Can anyone help with this or tell me what might be going on?

I use swisscows for my search engine, and sometimes DDG; for my mail I use protonmail who ask for nothing when signing up, or they didn't when I signed up. Protonmail also have a free VPN. Awesome, safe and private. Another awesome and private email server is tutanota.com
